Australia should really lighten up with the gun laws a lot, maybe not exactly like america to own an AK-47 for "self defense" but australias gun laws are tighter than a snakes ass. What that women is saying is idiotic, banning semi-automatic pistols, whether you have a semi-auto or a revolver there both going to kill someone and for the port massacre, it was terrible what happened but one mentally distorted guy goes and shoots x amount of people and guns are off limits. Not fair.
last but not least.. Isnt the fact we need crops and farm land and ffeed crops even more important than saving the native fauna? I feel both are great reasons for conservation hunting, but for the city folk ,who never see the bush,but still whinge about guns and hunters wouldnt they starve if these pests run amok and increase unchecked destroying the food crops we and the cattle eat?

We should ban cars really as they are responsible for a hell of alot more deaths than guns. Or is it the dodgy drivers? The amount of time and effort it takes to acquire a gun license, then the month wait to pick up your gun after going through another 5 pages of application to own this firearm amounts to a 2 month period before you get one in your hands. Its in your name, on file with police and requires locking in an approved gun safe with only the owner having knowledge of the keys. cont...

the anti-gun people talk about semi-auto pistols being high power guns and having a higher magazine count than semi-auto rifles and yet there range is limited as is the magazine count. for our army special forces units there backup guns. banning pistols will do little to stop criminal use of them and oh terrorists would find a way to get the nasty things they want as well.
FFS if a criminal wants a gun he will get one. The only thing here is they are making it harder for the legal and genuine gun owners. Do you think a criminal is going to do the HOURS of paper work to legals possess a gun?! NO
