sounds to me like it's definitely jerry on the intro and cornell next, from there it's tough for me to tell. sounds like layne with cantrell harmonizing? then the mudhoney dude for the really low notes, then all hell breaks loose.
@TheRealAngusturtle it's all good man, i never really got into mudhoney as i did AIC or soundgarden, so i'm not really familiar with the members. just my musical preference.
@bloodtearsej it's Jerry, CHRIS, Layne, Layne + Cantrell, MARK, then all of them together with Cornell taking the lead. Cornell's voice is ridiculously easy to recognize, hell, every one of them is easy to recognize
@Lawldudz my bad... sorry ... I do know Chris voice but he does have a way of changing.. Some one even said that Layne wasnt even in this song... sorry i guess we shouldnt fight about it really, its too damn of a good song with four kick arse artists...lets just enjoy it
@Lawldudz my bad sorry.. , truelistening to it harder , tho to my ears it does'nt sound like Chris..(dumb) anyways, i guess we should,nt fight about it really, it too damn good of a song with four kick arse artists... lets all just enjoy.......
1:56 - 2:31 - Is DEFINITELY Mark Arm ( if you listen to any Mudhoney track you will hear the same sort of Novocaine/nasally, slow sounding drawl he has when he sings.)
And yeah, then they all say fuck-it and all jump in! :)
@thebiggestmoviefan Hey :) i don't know if we're talking about the same part haha. I'm talking about the end when they all sing together, Chris sings the high notes when they're all singing together ;)
@thebiggestmoviefan Its Cornell at 0:38 until Layne comes in and at the end with the higher notes...........Mark Arm is at the very beginning and all throughout the rest........No were as low as we can get cant leave and cant forget........damn that hard
ens of the song should of been longer, the solo vocals at the end, the breakdown in singing is badass and should have been at least a minute longer. Thats when layne and chris really start to cut lose.

@SaintJ44 I definitely disagree that "EVERYTHING today sucks", that is so wrong attitude. Still, 90's were IMO the best rock music-era out there, so many damn classic albums, etc.
@GoodGuitarSolos yeah definitely! a lot of people like to rip on todays music just because of certain artists being popular, but there's just as much good music still being made, you just got to look for it! lol
cornell was always hit and miss to me, it depended on how his vocals were applied to the song. towards the end of this magnificent song, he really tied the whole thing into a whole new level. rip layne.
Did I just read this: "Old AIC sucks, new AIC is the shit" ??! wtf. I never thought i'd see that. Just listen to this song. New AIC ain't that bad, but they can't ever capture this emotion and atmosphere.
@NearDark87 esta bien, ambos alice in chains son distintos, pero debes entender que cantrell tampoco puede estar toda su vida lamentandose sobre layne stanley, el debe seguir adelante con sus proyectos y con su musica, y yo la hecho muy bien!
@NearDark87 that's COMPLETELY opposite of what I usually read about Alice in Chains. If you ask me, Black Gives Way To Blue is just as awesome as Dirt. I can't wait for them to release a new album.
@Chrissy61101 I'll pretend you didn't just say that "Black Gives Way to Blue is just as awesome as Dirt". Don't get me wrong, I love their new stuff just as much as the next person but Dirt stands unparalleled at the peak AIC's discography.
Layne kicked ass in this song. Then Mark Arm, Cantrell the Cornell. sorry, i love Chris, but he didnt do an awesomely amazing part in this song, he was good, but not like his usual stuff. but all of them sounded amazing at the end

I love the harmony that starts at 1:29 sooooooo awesome.
Also just to clear some stuff up:
0:20 - 0:38 Mark Arm (Sounds a lot like Cantrell though)
0:39 - 1:55 Chris Cornell
1:56 - 2:31 Layne Staley (It's pretty obvious. He's got that slight lisp from the heroin use.)
2:32 everyone just says fuck it and they all come in.
ShdowSora 7 months ago
@ShdowSora Screw that. 0:20 - 0:38 is REALLY starting to sound like Cantrell.
Well, Mark's lost somewhere in the song.

@ShdowSora I have to argue that:

1:56 - 2:31 - Is DEFINITELY Mark Arm ( if you listen to any Mudhoney track you will hear the same sort of Novocaine/nasally, slow sounding drawl he has when he sings.)
