FYI....music is recorded as 2.0 stereo for all of you blabbing about his setup.

There's nothing wrong with his setup if he's using it as stereo only. However, if he's using that center channel it should be mono. That's the only real critique. Otherwise, the setup is fine for stereo 2.0 The downside is 5.1 wouldn't be good at all ;)

Far superior to Logi Z5500. 5500 is all about volume & crap sound. Edifier has actual speakers. Much better mids & clarity. Quality made in Canada. Great choice TomikHP.

but just for your information logitech z-5500 actual watts is around 240 watts not 505 watts

logitech just exaggerating their watts power

and also logitech fuse tends to burn a lot

I agree logitech z-5500 have earth-shaking bass but this type is a loose bass type which is not accurate and unsuitable for music

edifier s550 provides tight suspension with tight bass which makes accurate but not so boony bass

logitech z-5500 has fake watts

in germany it has a 2 AMP fuse so it can have max. 460 Watts

and in USA ist has a 4 AMP Fuse so it can have there only 460 Watts, too.

I hate Logitech's fake watts.

Z-5500 isn't bad but edifier s550 is better

Dude have you even tried both system. i used to own Z-5500 Digital, and yes thats a really good system. But the Edifier S550 rocks Logitech Z-5500 Digital. The sound from the Edifier is just better. It should be this way, you have to remember Edifier only make speakers... they concentrate on one product... Logitech have all kinda products

might have a little lack of mid-range but that could be tuned easily through the dock.
