Radiohead have been acknowledged by many as the best band in the past decade not only this but Radiohead broke away from tradional song structures making them at least remarkable whereas Oasis did not. If you listen to Blur the intricacies of melody and chord play are far more intelligent than Oasis. But there is no argument for taste. I love Oasis - they write great songs but gawd they sound pretentious when interviewed.

@sharpyboyhero I loved Oasis as a teenager in Manchester, and, since I wanted to have at least a little street cred, spent endless nights with mates talking about how garbage Blur, Radiohead, Suede etc were. One day I suddenly grew up and decided to listen to those bands objectively, and something amazing happened. I stepped out of the quagmire of Oasis fandom and into a new world of aural bliss. I'll forever treasure the first two Oasis records, but Blur owns them in every conceivable way.

@andross637 I came to Oasis in exactly the opposite way you did. I worked my way through Radiohead, Blur, Pulp even Pete Doherty before I arrived at Oasis. I had heard of them before obviously but 'Wonderwall' never really impressed me - sure it was catchy but I wasn't into catchy then. Now having become more acquainted with them I think some of their songs are bloody great. Lyrically and melodically their stuff is just so strong. Plus how can you go past that driving electric guitar sound?
