butter and bullets man! you only need a few guns, for primary reasons; (dont forget it may not be just the gov to protect yourself from, there will be also the threat to your stockpile from the unprepared). The AR-15 would be the most all around weapon to use, High rate of fire and high velocity. A bolt action rifle for the sheer fact that it will mostlikely last longer then a semi.
Good goob bro! Put everyhting you can possibly think of away: personal hygeine to blankets, matches, comfort foods, first aid, matches, some freeze dried items, etc... Thanks for the great video and put aliitle bit away each day.
Hey pal, ever consider a bow or a crossbow as a back up weapon if bullets get low? Its silent, no gun flash & you can make your own bow & arrows. Also a belt with some throwing knives as a last resort hand weapon! I don't mention guns, you got that market covered pretty good!
wildernessoutfitters teaches how to make arrows. He also has videos how to make a survival bow. Lots of other interesting stuff.
hopefully the economey changes back around and the prices of ammo will go down and we wont have to worry as much. im deffenitly not as woried as this guy but who knows whats going to happen in the next 2 or 3 years.
I don't stock that much factory ammo, but I do stockpile a lot of reloading equip. The run on the ammo seems to be letting up a bit around here, hopefully its doing the same where you are at. Thanks for posting.
You have way more guns than I do, but you have far, far less ammo... Hmmm, maybe I should buy less ammo perhaps? Is 15K rounds of 9mm too much you think?
I would be more than willing to barter with you if you were running low on something, but if you're implying you would take my things by force you would be in for a definite gun fight. I am not saying I would win, you may get the lucky shot, but you're not going to just take it from me without working for it. No offence intended, thats just the way it is. Thanks for commenting though.
I don't foresee any zombie invasions anytime soon, but you never know! If zombies start marching the streets I think it will be time to "bug out" I forgot how you kill zombies anyway? Don't they just die if they don't get to eat people? You can't shoot them because they are all ready dead. You'll have to enlighten me on the art of dispatching zombies.
the 30 autity autiy autiy & dat AR gonna save your ass! god bless all people like this man, sometimes I feel americac is safe but taxing ammo & buying it out is a good idea, also banning weapons might be implaced...I definetly have hope in all people in North America...United we stand divided we fall brothers, I once heard a quote "I would never invade america, there would be a gun behind every blade of grass" from a Japaanese general...I think we should not be invaded mentally or phsyically.
That's a nice collection you got there. I like the molotov's/booze thing. If somebody wants to take 'em, hand it to them with a little flame on the tip...lol. Im not sure if wine would burn thou...hehe.
Please let me know if you ever make a review of your guns. I wanna see that jappenese war era rifle. Awesome... ;)
That's a good idea, I think I'll do one on it soon. I scored some ammo on Gunbroker for it a while back and found that it still shoots pretty good for an old rifle. The bullets for it are actually necked down 30-06 casings. I'm saving all my spent brass so I'll be able to reload them, all I need is the die now that I have a few hundred rounds to work with.
I see you were in the army. Good you know about survival & tactics. I know you made this video 5 months ago. But I recomend you get at least 10,000 22lr rounds as minimum. That's around $260 or less. They are cheap & they can serve many purposes. You can hunt birds, rabbits, squirrels(have never ate one), snakes & other things & it is not too loud like a shotgun or a bigger rifle. Not much for self defense, but a 22lr can still work if there is nothing else at hand. A head shot is a head shot.
I actually looked into it and the bullets and powder aren't the problem its the ignition/primer aspect of the 22lr that's the prob. It's a type of liquid / goo that they put in the bottom of the casing that is very sensitive to impact. Having that in a bulk form would be too dangerous. Simply dropping it would cause it to explode. I suppose if you really wanted to you could find out what the stuff is made of and make your own but it seems easier just to buy them, if you can find them that is!
I agree totally with you. The 22lr is a very versatile weapon, Someone wrote me and said they're no good for taking larger game and I had to disagree with him do to the fact that I have personally seen a 22lr drop a deer dead in its tracks. If a person is patient and waits for a good head shot a 22 will kill a deer no prob. The effective range is a lot less than high powered rifle's but inside 150 yrds they are deadly. I know I wouldn't want to be shot with one at any range.
30.06 good cailber easy to resupply in america rurual areas, I agree with nobody knows how long and Its deffenetly in the air, Im planning a good 2 year supply, with in that time I should have a sustainable garden operation. Im half way there on food, unless if Nobody in my family wakes up, Ammo Im good on for YEARS lets just put it that way. An it only takes less than 20 bullets a year to feed a family on deer. Problume isnt homesteading, thats just waiting for them to come get you. gota fight
so im not the only one feelin it. if you see a skinny guy with an ak an a big black bag. dont shoot, he will teach you the finer points of hush hush combat.
I'm not a CT nut but I do recognise being prepared. Everyone else just thinks I'm crazy. I buy ammo in bulk more for the amount of money I can save in doing so than fear of a collapse of society. But that is a prospect I do look into. That being said I am a bit paranoid but nowhere near some of the levels I have seen here and elsewhere. I will not give specifics on what I have but you do have more guns than me. But I only have one .22 rifle not 4. I have a couple mosins though.
If I brought up numbers in how much ammo I have most people would be going "Holy crap..." Most people... But I don't give out numbers. Might make me a target. But the only steel case ammo I buy are for my Russian guns. Steel cased .223 fired right after brass can cause the case to stick and for the extractor to tear the casing.
I agree the steel case russian ammo is not the best for the AR's, but I have them as a last resort. I reload my 223 ammo and have a couple thousand rounds of brass. If I get down to the steel casings it will be for survival only and I would use my older well broken in AR. I wouldn't put them through my good AR.
if you really want to think ahead, I recommend getting a few good fire extinquishers. If some gang punks have molatov cocktails they might try to flush you out of your home for your supplies. And maybe even some spare 2X4s and nails to board up windows if things really get bad. i guess if things get that bad, you'd probably want to get the heck out of town and into a rural area if you're not already. Recommend at least 5 - 55 gallon drums for drinking water and lots of sanitation supplies.
Good info but I live in the mountains in a small town and just about every family has weapons around here, no gangs to worry about either. As for water we have many running streams and a couple rivers. I agree if you live in the city you're screwed.
Its great and all to have a good stockpile of food, ammo, guns, etc. But it is useless without "strength in numbers." If "gangs" take to the streets, it would help to fend them off with friends and family. No 1 person can withstand a good assault.
the government is fully aware that many people are preparing for the worst. They're not worried about such people and wouldn't waste their time trying to find this guy. The government is more concerned about people who are not prepared who will attempt to break-down society through violence. That is why martial law may be initiated - to protect the good people.
@mycatisromeo - The good people are Patriots & they are the enemy of the NWO. The good people are Responsible, sensible & the majority are respectable to a certain degree. The real threat as fluttervalve pointed out will not be the military or police. They will be scared & hiding like the rest of us when the hordes of insane, starving, angry mobs are marching in legions looking for victims to feed off of to pillage from. That's what worries me...alot! It will feel like a mad max scenario.
The gov unfortunately already knows where and who I am. I served in the Army so I gave them blood, prints, background. I'm not worried about them coming after me, I would hope they have bigger fish to fry than me. My stockpile of weapons is nothing compared to some I've seen, plus all my weapons/ammo are legal to possess. If they did decide to come after me in my house they wouldn't get me without a fight, and if my neighbors seen a ruckus the gov would be fighting them too.
Why would the US government attack you? Just because you have a huge amount of guns and supplies? How would they know anyway? I live in the UK and haven't been keeping up with this "collapse of society" thing. I've always had this funny feeling though, i have wanted to go to USA for guns for some reason and it confused me, why i would want to. Must be a primal feeling of danger or something and need to be prepared :(. I'm just a teen person though so i probably will die if it happens quickly.
The government doesn't scare me as much as the ordinary citizen would. What I mean by that is, if we were in a state of economic fallout and cities were turning into waste lands we would have many desperate people trying to survive, including people with criminal intentions to survive. Desperate people do desperate things they normally wouldn't do in order to stay alive. It may sound paranoid but I am not going to roll the dice on my families safety. Hope for the best and prepare for the worst.
@CenturyGamer Sir, Please consider the phrase 'An Englishman's Home Is His Castle.' The responsibility for defense of hearth and home extends beyond your own walls and up to the National level. We'll defend whats ours from British redcoats or Yankee bluecoats or UN bluehelmets.
Ask Admiral Yamamoto how thick the grass grows in The South.
@fluttervalve - Holy shit! Reading that scared the crap out of me seriously. They are training private security & merc soldiers already for civil unrest. Obama has his nazi youth brigades also. Anyone seen or heard of Randy Weaver and his story of the Ruby ridge massacre. I seen that tonight and this is going to be a real scenario for many millions of people around the world! I don't think being prepared is a bad thing. 10,000 .22 rnd is a good idea!
The balloons keep the oxygen from the wine. The gas produced from the fermentation process can expand with balloons. If I was to cork the bottles during this stage of fermentation it would blow the cork out or worse, blow the bottle up. Thanks for commenting.
I live in a hihgly populated area outside chicago, where most people live check to check,or are on welfare. If there ever was civil unrest or a natural disaster they would loot like crazy. They already loot like crazy.I went on a road trip out west this summer and Oregon was one of the best states that we camped in.Right outside of crater lake at the Rogue river gorge.
fluttervalve you are the man.I have been thinking about doing the exact same thing you are doin,I just hope im not to late.you have inspired me to get started soon. what kind of basic survival rifles do you think me and my girlfriend should get,for possible riots or survival hunting.I also will stock booze.
As far as a hunting rifle you can get away with a .22 caliber rifle. You can kill lots of small game animals, possibly deer if your patient enough to wait for a good shot and a good enough aim for a head kill. Plus the ammo is cheap and plentiful. If you're set on getting a more powerful weapon the .223 is the next step up in my opinion, same caliber but a ton more velocity, easily can kill a deer at 300 yards. Bullets are reasonable and you can get semi auto rifles with high capacity clips.
When it comes to close combat and riots high powered rifles like the .223 obviously would be very effective against people due to the semi auto and high ammo capacity features. They are what the military uses and for good reason. The 12 gauge loaded with #4 buck or 00buck is extremely effective for a closer engagement. I would not be caught without a shotgun in a hostile environment. You've given me a good idea for another video I'll make on the effects of different weapons. I'll post it soon.
get a good Ak-47 semi-auto (about $450) ammunition is 7.62X39. I've got to warn you though ammo has really gone up in price lately and I'm actually having a tough time finding Wolf Ammo in stock anywhere (a cheap, but good ammo). Demand has something to do with Obama and hunting season I guess, but there are alot of people stocking up for "worse-case scenarios".
I agree an "AK" is a good well tested weapon and The 308 is a very accurate round. I just got used to the M16 in the Army and never quit liking it. Both will work outstanding if you're talking about dispatching bad guys. As for ammo it's getting harder to find good prices on factory loads, that is why I reload my own ammo. You can reload match grade ammo for less than the cost of crappy factory loads.

No 1 person can withstand a good assault.

arent you afraid the government can locate you by making this video?
you know its easy today even viacom has all our user-data.
you shouldnt be very afraid for strangers or your neighbours but more for the government.
just i though

the government is fully aware that many people are preparing for the worst.

10,000 .22 rnd is a good idea!

nice.. prepare for the worst and hope for the best i like your wine stockplie what do the ballons on the bottles do?
richmossi12 3 years ago
The balloons keep the oxygen from the wine. The gas produced from the fermentation process can expand with balloons. If I was to cork the bottles during this stage of fermentation it would blow the cork out or worse, blow the bottle up. Thanks for commenting.

I live in a hihgly populated area outside chicago, where most people live check to check,or are on welfare. If there ever was civil unrest or a natural disaster they would loot like crazy. They already loot like crazy.I went on a road trip out west this summer and Oregon was one of the best states that we camped in.Right outside of crater lake at the Rogue river gorge.

fluttervalve you are the man.I have been thinking about doing the exact same thing you are doin,I just hope im not to late.you have inspired me to get started soon. what kind of basic survival rifles do you think me and my girlfriend should get,for possible riots or survival hunting.I also will stock booze.
cosmiccowboy777 3 years ago
As far as a hunting rifle you can get away with a .22 caliber rifle. You can kill lots of small game animals, possibly deer if your patient enough to wait for a good shot and a good enough aim for a head kill. Plus the ammo is cheap and plentiful. If you're set on getting a more powerful weapon the .223 is the next step up in my opinion, same caliber but a ton more velocity, easily can kill a deer at 300 yards. Bullets are reasonable and you can get semi auto rifles with high capacity clips.
fluttervalve 3 years ago
When it comes to close combat and riots high powered rifles like the .223 obviously would be very effective against people due to the semi auto and high ammo capacity features. They are what the military uses and for good reason. The 12 gauge loaded with #4 buck or 00buck is extremely effective for a closer engagement. I would not be caught without a shotgun in a hostile environment. You've given me a good idea for another video I'll make on the effects of different weapons. I'll post it soon.
fluttervalve 3 years ago
get a good Ak-47 semi-auto (about $450) ammunition is 7.62X39. I've got to warn you though ammo has really gone up in price lately and I'm actually having a tough time finding Wolf Ammo in stock anywhere (a cheap, but good ammo). Demand has something to do with Obama and hunting season I guess, but there are alot of people stocking up for "worse-case scenarios".
mycatisromeo 3 years ago
I agree an "AK" is a good well tested weapon and The 308 is a very accurate round. I just got used to the M16 in the Army and never quit liking it. Both will work outstanding if you're talking about dispatching bad guys. As for ammo it's getting harder to find good prices on factory loads, that is why I reload my own ammo. You can reload match grade ammo for less than the cost of crappy factory loads.
