  • If you can get into the source code, you should do it! Patchage needs active development in my opinion.

  • Hi kiernanholland. I am trying to work out if I can run Zyn on a linux over an Ethernet connection as a kind of network Audio device from primary computer. so the Linux acts as a kind of platform to host plugins such as Zyn. I haven't made a move on anything yet though, because I don't know everything I will need. I think I will need some kind of network sending (midi & Audio) over Ethernet packages.

I heard some people say that Zyn is not good on a real time OS such as 9.0.4. not so ? Thanks

  • @TheMvuser You can use netjack - just the thing you need. Read it up in Google, basically a low latency thing to send audio over the net. As for Zyn, it is indeed not very good for real time, you should go and install Yoshimi instead - a fork of Zyn which is done especially for rt.

  • 2:15 . . . Maaaasssster ! !

  • This is amazing, soon I'll get the gear I need to record including a midi keyboard and I plan to start recording and experimenting with midi in Ubuntu 9.10. My only concern is if the hardware I'm going to buy is compatible with linux but I'm just on the researching stage. Great vid thanks

  • @MaghoxFr You can use USB sound device, like some of those that sell on ebay..

  • yeah I'm thinking on getting one those interfaces, I'm deciding between USB or firewire but low end because I'm on a budget. Great videos, very helpful man.
