I just met Rob a few days ago and had the pleasure of hanging out a bit after a solo show he did. Best moment of my life since the birth of my child! lol
Yeah, I know what you mean. He played a solo show in Chico on March 23rd and it was amazing. He is one of the nicest guys I've ever met. Congrats on the birth of your child, by the way!
@JermLeather I was surprised one of my friends said he was unfriendly but they couldn't be more wrong! He was sweet and softspoken (May have been trying to save his voice :)
Saw every show they played in Eugene after Sink came out. The best ones were at the 400 sq foot Max's tavern and John Henry's. Needless to say the crowd was never that docile.
@laylashawmoore A friend always told me it was called "Butte Tech". A community college next to Chico. Party and sin and party-sin cups and hats and such.... A real raucous place.
Wow what a classic, and some very vintage footage mite I add. Still to this day, eleven albums later, selling out venues up and down the west coast while working their way east. Without a doubt, a true well-rounded trio that has one of the most unforgettable live show experiences money can buy. Keep keeping it real.
I was at this show. Up against the stage over to the left(stage right). They opened for some other terrible power metal band, ugh! But the played their asses off to an empty room and previewed a bunch of stuff from "Angels In The Flesh..." which hadn't come out yet.
I like Floater but in Sacramento they dont sell out, went to the show on October 10 in Sac small crowd, compared to when I saw them up in Chico in the 90's at the brickworks, that was a show!
Floater in my opinion is one of the greatest bands to come from the pacific northwest or even this planet. I am from there homestate of Oregon and they play everywhere and sell out everywhere. This is one of my favorite vids i have seen of them except it gets cut short.
I was told these guys played for a bunch of record execs at the Viper (Johnny Depps club in LA) and were considered "not commercially viable". Go figure.
You are so right Etan, I always put in one of their CD's if I am driving on a long trip or in the City....blocks everything out. I'm on my own little trip!
What with Rob's intelligent and moving lyrics, Pete's solid and skillful drumming, and Dave's wicked guitar noises, this band affects me more everyday than anything else
I couldn't agree with you more! I've been to 57 shows and counting. I have spoken to Rob, Dave, and Pete numerous times. They are some of the coolest people I have ever met.
This was filmed over a tape that I took out of the van that had THX-1138 on it, its the only tape that was mine to record over once I found out the Great American Music Hall had the ability to record there shows. One of few live recordings of my light shows in the 90's. Ahhh good times.
Is this Jesse Fletcher? You traveled with these guys and did there light shows in these days..? I love these videos from this specific show, great light show by the also! You got any old tales from the road? Could that be the same THX-1138 tape they used for samples on Glyph?
Amazing video, AMAZING band. I've met them a few times in portland, saw them many times at the crystal ballroom here in portland. Awesome stuff. Been a fan since '94 as well
Kickass. I'm glad to know you! I've never been to any shows at The Crystal Ballroom, but I plan on making a trip to see Floater in their home state sometime this year.

I'm actually sort of glad they've stayed relatively underground. It makes it more special when it's 'your' awesome band that nobody else knows about.
