  • @lerris911 Chris it's my maximum influence on my bass playing style...in fact i bought a fx pedalboard because of he. (i'm from argentina maybe my english it's bad...hope you understand haha)

  • 4 years ago TODAY Christopher wolstenholme inspired me to become a bassist.

i got a letter in the mail that i was accepted into a music high school. wow.

  • @zoszos5 :D:D:D

  • @hand2gland Muse make me proud of my music taste ^^

  • Biggest & best band on the planet right now. OK, U2 have a huge stage to attract their audience these days but Muse have the songs, passion and musicianship. We haven't seen such a multi-faceted band since Queen.

  • as much as i love this performacne. i bet back then, on a mainstream music show, this was just seen as a massive din!

  • Bellamy got green spiked hair or glow paint in it?

  • @tvrulesnation both!!

  • @tuber2654

Savage :P well gotta try fuck my hair up with that at a concert next time, WHatever pedal for effect Bellamy is using at like 1:55 is fucking slick

  • @tvrulesnation Matt's using a Zvex Fuzz Factory thats built into most of his guitars, just like this one.

  • @scribble619 its actually only in 3, two of which are no longer in use

  • I'd love to learn bass guitar only to be able to play this song.

The bass made me love it.

  • oh man listen to chris' bass, i'm glad they haven't lost that sound live.

  • i love playing this song on my guitar and going hyper

  • as much as i love the new muse stuff ,origins of symmetry is just unbeatable! :)

  • the lead singer needs a cheeseburger

  • @Bricball

    lol a cheeseburger?

  • one of the most underrated bands in history

  • @dannyirwin Absolutly not! Don't say that they're underrated because they're not. They've got quite a lot of attention actually. Not always good attention... but attention nontheless

  • @swedenxtrem dude who cares?? they ROCK the earth!

  • @tuber2654 Indeed they do, I just wanted to state that they as a band are not underrated I think they get pretty much all the attention they deserve ^-^ They're a quite amazing band especially live I must say after seeing them.

  • @dannyirwin Underrated? They have millions of fans worldwide, have won countless awards from all four corners of the globe, have sold out Wembley stadium on more than one occasion, and Matt Bellamy is regarded as one of the best mainstream guitarists out there today. They haven't for one second been underrated!

  • @0Genus0 they were underated when OoS came out

  • @0Genus0 Well, I guess they were a bit underrated in the earlier years with Showbiz and Origin of Symmetry, what with the Radiohead comparisons and whatnot.

  • God I wuv this song :)

  • This song makes me hyper.

  • old MUSE!

  • great bass line

  • Best version I've heard of this song .,. Fucking crazy

  • I miss the old crazy Muse -.-

    Best song ever. :x

  • muse ladies and gentelmen being rather exciting!

  • origin of symmetry = muse at their very best.

  • @newborn54

    You sir, are correct!

Origin Of Symmetry has been overpowering by car sound system for many a year haha

  • fucking great..........

  • 1:44

I swear he is resisting the urge to swear there.. Or is he?

  • @nofx6678 Thanks for clearing that up

  • Sexxiiiiii.

I Love it when he spikes his hair. :)

  • Who care why or when NSC was written or if it was written on demand of the Twilight people. And who cares if they are selling out? What would happen to a band that wouldn't sell out and get money and publicity? Just listen to their music and stop arguing about who or what they wrote and recorded it for. Just enjoy the good music that these guys put out. Their music doesn't get any worse even though it's featured in the Twilight soundtrack. Music doesn't get bad even though the musician sells out

  • FUCK YEAH 1:24 !!

  • i wanna learn to sing as good as him. hes so amazing man.

  • Whenevr I feel myself getting pissed or losing faith in this band, I watch a video like this. Stunning. I hope they cut this Eclipse crap and go back to this type of raw musical beauty... a band as talented as Muse works best when they're not trying to make money or please people, simply making music.

  • @ickism Here's the thing about Twilight. The writer is a big fan of Muse and continually asks to use their music. They don't write anything FOR Twilight. They just let them use their music. It's not that big of a deal to them.

And The Resistance is awesome. Muse is the best band around today.

  • @marvelfan281 They wrote NSC for Twilight,

  • @DaHooomie He wrote NSC in 2009 after he broke up with his girlfriend, he said it in an interview.

Twilight just wanted some new songs and they liked NSC and he thought "why not?"

  • @AmazingPurpleCat ""Neutron Star Collision (Love Is Forever)" is a non-album song recorded in 2010 for the The Twilight Saga Eclipse Original Soundtrack. It was written without intent to include it on the soundtrack but was appropriate for it, so it was contributed." I guess you're right. So they recorded it, and then the Twilight guys heard about it? Wouldn't make much sense.

  • @AmazingPurpleCat Never mind, figured it out. He wrote the song after he broke up with his girlfriend and when the Twilight guys called and asked for a song they recorded NSC and gave it to them.

  • @DaHooomie

It was written without intent to include it on the soundtrack but was appropriate for it, so it was contributed.

  • @marvelfan281 You have a valid point, and Muse is of course the absolute best around, no doubt about that, but the fact remains that they are doing this for the publicity that twilight gives them. It's not wrong to want to be bigger and more popular as a band, but the whole NSC music video and Twilight Endorsement just feels like they're selling out to me, like it's gone way too far. It just bothers me, I can't wait until this fad has passed.

  • @ickism If you want my opinion, I don't think they're selling out. It seems to me like they just don't care. It's all in good fun for them and that's sort of what really matters. They're not grabbing at the chance to be on the Twilight soundtrack; they're just letting them use their music. I really think they laugh at a lot of the stuff they do. Hell, they even say they laugh at their own stuff.

  • MUSE are allways amazing no matter what, they're just growing up and evolving their music tryinge out new things, and I simply like all their stuff new songs included! (Now you have muse songs for every mood ;) )

  • Whoaaaaaaaaaaaa!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • BEST BASS LINE EVER

  • @TiagoO0707 Hysteria would like to have a word with you...

  • makes me feel high

  • So raw, Please go back to these days instead of that pussy ressistance stuff for the love of god :D

  • It's a shame that they are becoming what they are now... eclips, for gods sake, has if resistance wasn't enough, they made even more crappy musics...

i want that old muse back in the absolution days...

Tomorow i'll be in their show (once again :D) here in Portugal!

  • "Muse ladies and gentlemen.......... rather exciting..."

    - Jools.

  • @651dxw Isn't matt approaching 30 fairly soon?

  • @Namaste1001 he's past that mark lol. though he is about to turn 32.

  • @Geekernator21 Don't say that I'm the same age.....

  • @651dxw ah well maybe. the only thing which is true (i think) is they don't jump (that much) like they've done right during this video... that's some way of rocking out too :P

  • i don't hate their new album, but I wish Resistance had even half the energy these guys had on their older albums.

  • @AcousticTyGuy read a biography about these guys, find out why origins came out the way it did. then you'll understand why resistance is so different and so special too.

  • Comment removed

  • I know I get a lot of thumbs down for this comment, but who is Jools Holland? I really have no clue and since i am a fan of muse, i want to know it because they are at his show a lot... By the way this song rocks!!

  • @lisalovemusical Jools Holland is a British pianist/broadcaster who has worked with many famous bands throughout the years including Eric Clapton and U2. Currently, Holland hosts a music show on BBC2 (The show seen in this video) which is usually on after Friday Night With Jonathan Ross on Saturday evenings (At around 11:45). A special episode of the show is also played every New Year's Eve, with a greater number of guests present.

  • Hmmm bass <3

  • best bassline in the history of life much?

  • @JizzD0htDizzle2 the Histeria bassline is preetty awesome too =D

  • @Mik3Pipans not even PRETTY awesome :D

    GODLY even :p

  • @JizzD0htDizzle2

Not taking away from Chris's bass lines (i'm a bassist myself) what he does for Muse is fucking animal & suits their band perfectly, but its nothing special technically, whatever fuzz pedal he uses really helps give the band that space-rock feeling.

But then again Chris clearly shows quite alot of talent, obviously muse aren't a bass/drums centric band therefore his basslines don't need to be overcomplicated. Youtube ''bootsy collins live bass'' its a 4 minute video UNREAL

  • @tvrulesnation

Muse aren't a bass / drums centric band? Pretty much all of Origin of Symmetry and Showbiz wouldn't be what it is without the amazing baroque-esque bass. New Born, Uno, Plug in Baby. Yeah the guitar is amazing, but the bass is what really makes those songs.

As for his bass fuzz - Big Muff, Boss Overdrive, its pretty standard stuff he just processes a lot with EQs and compressions, runs it through two separate amps (clean / disto)... a lot of signal stuff :)

  • @starblindmusic

Sorry what i meant was that the bass isn't a lead like in funk music, generally in trios the bass + drums have to be of top quality to make up for a missing instrument, you can see it from Hendrix experience to Cream to Rush.

1:55 in this video is fucking lethal.

As for the pedals lol i'm a dimwit when it comes to the technology shit, never was my strong point so i'll take yer word for it ;)

  • @JizzD0htDizzle2 AMEN!

  • @JizzD0htDizzle2 u forgetting hysteria and shrinking universe

  • MUSE is perfect...

you cant compare them...you, just cant..

well it is imposible for me..

    theres only one God

    MUSE

  • I have nothing against Radiohead. i think they're great and whatnot. but holy fuck! do they have a shitty fanbase.

  • tht was fucking awesome!!!!

  • this is what radiohead fans actually believe.

  • yea well.. that's just like your opinion man... Radiohead is great and all that. I just prefer Muse. Peace.

  • @HeyJaw Totally different bands. I don't see why they are always compared.

  • its amazing how they can play really good on live when lots of other bands use computers to make them sound good

  • Yeah, because that's how his voice really sounds.....

  • Comment removed

  • you know that i dont want you!!!! and i never did!!!!!!!!

  • Comment removed

  • Did he fall over at the end of the song?

  • bassist is awesome

  • @mmandreazz I can play most of their songs on bass. :D Excuse my ego.
