If McCain's gonna lie to us now, what makes ya think he'll do anything different as President. He's got balls talking about spending when his Buddy Bush Bankrupt the country. (Which he voted for 90% of the time.) It's OK to piss away our Tax Dollars on War because it makes all the right people rich. If the money is being spent on our country, he calls it "Pork." I can't stand listening to his Bullshit anymore. He makes me sick.
Do you feel different about this comment now? Now that Obama is spending much more of the tax payers money, to a point that is incredible numbers in the Trillions. Almost 100 days in office and has done nothing but give speeches and speeches. As for Bush jr, everyone loved him when we got attacked on 9/11, people were even calling french fries, freedom fries. The problem with Bush was that we stayed to long and involved in the War that shouldn't have happen.
No, I don't. Even if the Republicans did things their way we'd still be burning trillions. The reason why Obama's numbers look so high is because half of that 3+ trillion he inherited and he's including the cost of these shit ass wars which Bush never did. The way I see it we can spend the money to fix our problems now or spend the money to fix them later. The longer we wait the more it'll cost. At least he's spending the money to fix our country. Republicans use out tax dollars on themselves.
But you say Republicans as if they are all the same. It's kind of like saying that all men are the same or all women are the same. The Republican party is just that a party just like the Democrats which was founded under slavery acts which was created in the South. Andrew Johnson was a racist SOB who was a Democrat, but I'm not saying they are all racist. The huge problem I see, is that if Obama fails with his massive plan of trillions their is no way out for this country.
Now don't get me wrong, Obama is a brilliant man, but, he hasn't done anything except give money to AIG, GM etc. Then they want the money back. But lets be honest, usually within 100 days of President one can see where things are going. Obama is playing the role of a celebrity, just giving speeches and requesting more money. There is other alternatives then to spend more in order to bail us out. If failed this country is more in a crisis. Anyways, just some of my random thoughts.
Do you have any idea what would've happened if AIG failed? And he's only bailing out the big banks. He's already let a shit-load of small ones go under. If he let the big banks go under he would've had to pay to cover everybody's deposits. Either way it would've cost billions. Besides, the Government's going to get the money back. This is not a free-bee ya know. I think that's one thing everybody forgot about. This is only a loan.
I'm very aware of what could've happen but what did happen is just as bad if not worse. The problem with this society is and was not Bush, it's the greed among men. People were buying houses they could not afford. Signed with the banks stating they could pay for it which was a bill passed by Clinton. I like Clinton and thought he was a good President. Throught out the course of history large corporations have emerged and failed after a long time. Other corporations will eventually emerge.
I'll agree that greed is one of the biggest problems we've got in this country. But this downturn has nothing to do with people buying homes they couldn't afford or Clinton making homes available to lower income people. The reason people couldn't afford the homes was because the loans were adjustable. Go look and see how many people were told that their payments would double in 2 or 3 years when interest rates went up. And go look up mortgage and appraisal scams to.
Check your facts. The Obama tax proposal does not repeal the child tax credit. It does not raise taxes on over 90% of the public. Government spending has increased under Republicans. The economy has fared better under Democratic presidents. Republicans do decrease taxes, but they do so by running up debt, creating a weak dollar (and so high gas prices).
Obama does not promise a balanced budget. But McCain's unpaid-for tax cuts makes our fiscal problems even worse.
lasted I checked Obama's plan does not include 'that many' tax increases, and includes more spending cuts, like 10 billion a MONTH in iraq..
additionally by cutting the number of people in the middle east and cutting back military operations that will cut the OIL USE by the government by atleast 1/2 and will lower oil prices further..
I wish Republicans could get the facts right, you can't cut and spend and expect results!
even mccains plan includes spending and cutting at the same time
too bad our troops will be coming home next year anyway b/c of the success of the surge. it won't be b/c obama may be POTUS. we are on the verge of victory and Petraeus has said we will start bringing them home and we have been in talks with the sovereign Iraqi gov't to start a withdrawal. Honorable victory in Iraq. Mission almost accomplished.
Obama's plan includes making a $1000 cut. Yet, he also want's to repeal Bush's bill that allows you to get a tax break for having children and other things of the sort. So, you are actually going to pay $3000-10,000 more.
If you think that's what I believe from what I wrote earlier, you need to take Reading 101, buddy.
Obama's tax plan has tax cuts for more people than McCain's. And I expect Obama to spend less on war, which you might have noticed cost a hell of a lot.
So in a nutshell, I believe Obama offers better taxation and less irresponsible spending abroad. Clearer now?
did u watch the convention tonight? if you tax business you tax us ALL. If you tax "the rich", they spend less on us ALL. And why does the government have the right to someone's money just because you can afford it. Someone making 20 mill a yr can AFFORD 19.5 mill in tax... is that what America is about???
The same people who doubled the debt over the last 8 years from 4.5 to 10 trillion ...are pointing the finger? Come on. Too late to play fiscal conservative...
1) Bush created a mess in Iraq, doubled the debt and Mccain was one of his biggest supporters.
2)Dem congress has low approval rating because they haven't impeached BUSH and brought the troops home.
3) LOL 8 years of repub rule ...blame dems? You must be joking.

It amazes me to no end that closet Bush supporters who voted for this administration have any leg to stand on. WHy don't you sit this election out. McBUSH won't be president.
Obama is promising tax cuts for 95%! That means McCain's next moves/ads should be to say "Although he's *promising* tax-cuts for most Americans, his policies actually mean..." Why isn't McCain doing that?
Intelligent Americans are looking for an intelligent counter-argument, Mr. McCain.
um...Obama already made it clear that he's going to LOWER taxes on 95% of working families...seems like the only way McCain thinks he can win voters is to blatantly misrepresent his opponent's views
I like how McCain conveniently leaves out that his own projected tax/spending policies are going to cause our deficit to be nearly $300 billion higher than it would be under Obama's tax/spending policies.
Yes. I would agree. It's more than that this ad lacks substance though. It is that this ad lacks truth. The Paris/Britney ad lacked substance. This lacks basis in fact or reality.
The reason whu we don't have a balanced budget is because your good friends the dems have been in power for the past 2 years. They spend and don't care. Congress is the purse not the president
It's so interesting to look at the difference between Obama and McCain ads. No matter who you like, it's clear McCain is producing ads that are much more illogical and misrepresentational (Paris Hilton anyone?), as well as ridiculous. This most recent ad? What are they talking about? It's like leftover mudslinging from another century. Bush/Cheney and every Republican that supported them in the Senate (including McCain) is more guilty of these charges than any Democrat in recent history.
But don't you just love how they don't see any irony in it? I mean at a certain point you just have to laugh at the republicans because they clearly are delusional or don't think very highly of their target audience.
Take a look at the independent tax analysis that has been done. There are some good videos of it here on YouTube. MOst of what has been said here has already been proven as a LIE. In fact, for working families Obama will save you MORE in taxes than will McCain, right up the list until you start getting to people who make a LOT of money, like 2.9 mil+. Those people will be taxed more under Obama.
Actually Stanjam I just read a a indepdent tax analysis of both canidate's tax plans. And the TCP says that Obama's plan will increase taxes for those around the 200K mark. That means two hard working, say doctors, that are a couple, will pay more. 'Over one-third of physicians worked more than 60 hours a week in 2004.' And because they work hard they should be taxed more? Plus its also been shown that Obama's plan will increase tax on 32% of households with someone 65 or older in it...
I'm an intensivist, and let me be the first to cry you an f-ing river.
Post that "independent" analysis. especially that part about taxing the senior citizens. Now, if you are right, I, being a liberal (i.e., one who honors intellectual and academic rigor) I will acknowledge being told.
But if you site the usual crapola that republicans like to site (i.e., "fact free"), then, as a man of science (well, you're a surgeon, but close enough ;-) )I expect you to recant.
Actually, the last time we had a balanced budget was with a Democrat in the White House. I understand Republicans can only win elections with "subjective truth," but it's impressive that they now have to flat-out lie in their ads.
The balanced budget back when a Democrat was in the White House was created by the Republican-controlled Congress under Newt Gingrich (not the one in 2005 and 2006 that blew it). That Democrat you talk about that was in the White House wanted to spend the money like crazy but the Republicans that were in Congress at the time stopped much of the spending from occurring. When you tell about a situation, tell about all of it instead of leaving out important facts.
Oh and let's not forget how this recent Democratic Congress claimed they were about fiscal responsibility and stopping earmark spending but as soon as they got in, they broke all of those promises almost immediately.
The Difference between the Republican and Democratic Congresses is simple when it comes to spending: The Republican Congress was at first fiscally responsible but lost it's way several years later while the Democratic Congress was fiscally irresponsible since the beginning.
Do I need to use "the google" for you? Go look up the growth of earmarks since your puke-a** party took over! shameless, selfish, BS, far worse than corrupt Democrats, in their wildest fantasies, could have dreamed of!.
Your party is the culminaton of the downward spiral of our culture! Dumb is OK! Mediocrity is OK! Any Ayn randers out there? Could Bush, McCain, and Palin make her point any better? The aggrandizement of intellectual mediocrity.
OK, if you believe that BS then with a Repub VP and congress, we should have the bestest economy ever, right? And the biggest budget surplus and the lowest deficit and not owe anything to China, right? Get a friggin clue man!
Your party is of the wealthies 0.25, for the wealthies 0.25 and for the wealthies 0.2%.
Do you really not give a rat's a** about Jesus' instructions? take care of the least among us? Go sell all your possessions and give them to the poor, for it's harder, etc. ?
jesus? a made up story that you want to believe to shape your decisions in life. wow. f*&^ jesus. its all bull crap. religion is just another way to control you. live life for you and your family not for some make believe story written by man about some fairy tale. where are the unicorns in the bible?
I have news for you: the Democratic Party has some very rich people as well like George Soros, John Kerry, and Ted Kennedy. As for taking care of the less fortunate, economic and job growth is the best way to help those in need and I believe keeping tax rates as low as possible and putting spending under control is the way to make that happen. Government programs like medicaid are for those who are in a deep dire need of aid but still are unable to get hold of their own personal help.
Yes, and our rich people, in general, try to do good for the less fortunate.
we agree that growing the economy is the best way to help the poor, unfortunately this has never been Republican's strong suit. Massive deficit spending and then blaming Democrats for fixing their screwing of the pooh is their strong suit.
Got news for you cmhmd: The economy went through significant growth in from sometime in 2003 up to 2007. That was due to tax cuts that allowed people to invest into the economy. Also, the government was taking more tax revenue as a result of the growth since taxes are based on percentages. The more people and businesses make, the more the government collects. Our economy went into a decline due to people borrowing too much from banks to buy homes they can't afford and from lack of investments.
Also, the economy went into a decline under the Democrat's control of Congress. I'm not saying that they're the ones responsible for the problems but I don't see them stopping the earmark and excess spending to help support tax cuts and tax credits. In fact, I see the opposite and for the record, not every Republican lost his/her way in Congress when it comes to spending. McCain voted against bills for having too much earmarks and as President, he will veto any bill that has those earmarks...
...and make the politicians who put those earmarks on those bills known to the country so we can remove them in the elections.
Oh and if the rich people in your party want to help the poor so much, why don't they use their own goddamn money to help them? Why are they trying take money away from small and medium businesses and employees? Those rich people in the Democratic Party could also send extra money to the IRS or some cash to charity instead.
For some reason, most liberals have their heads up their asses and they think that all republicans are rich, when a great many (like me) are not. Are you selling your possessions and giving them to the poor? No, you aren't. The economy is better with republicans because they decrease taxes and government spending.
ready to leave! how about Sara Palin!?! (does that have an h at the end or not?) Is she really ready to leave.
This ad is a joke. After the last 8 years (and the 8 before that) I think we see who has a better record at a balanced budget and throwing away billions of dollars!
Palin loves those federal earmarks! As mayor her lobbyists got $27 million in federal earmarks. For a town of 6700 she got them around $4000 each of that lovely big government money.
love or hate me. i was merely illustrating how bazaar you comment was ( and this one too) if you thought those comments up sober than your worse than i could imagine. come up with something cogent instead of asinine. i mean really how old are you, 14?
amazing i thought the three stooges were dead. well larry curly and moe i'll try to explain it in the simplest form so even you morons will understand. it is the responsibility of palin, as a mayor and as governor to bring as many resources to their state and community as possible. this includes any money's availible from the fed's. not to do so would be not in the best interest of their constituents. this is good stewardship. as a representative of the whole nation she is opposed to earmarks
there is no hypocrisy here only an altered constituency. as governor palin was opposed to wasteful spending in alaska and saved her state millions there is no reason to think as V.P. she wouldn't also advocate for a responsible fiscal policy on a national level.
This comment has received too many negative votesshow
tuesdaychild: here's the thing you guy's don't like being called morons but you still respond moronically. your misrepresentation of my comments is tantamount to lying. not a unusual liberal tactic. either your too stupid to engage in any logical argument. or you just an agitator. either way you have no credibility with me. your at least consistent. you just keep going back to the same bullshit you spew out.
This comment has received too many negative votesshow
again you take me out of context and you mislead. i only defended palin for what any governor or mayor would do in representing their constituents. what angers me is i think you know this and are merely being a prick. otherwise you would deffinently have to be among the most stupid persons on you-tube.
This comment has received too many negative votesshow
if you had a countering argument you would have made one. you have made no arguments. you sole tactic has been to twist and juxtapose my comments to make you appear yo be relevant. your not. you have not made any coherent arguments. so you'll twist this one and confirm your lack of originality. thats ok. i'm past bored with you. draw any twisted and false conclusions you want.
it was fun but sort of sad to watch gearge self destruct like that - he obviously defended Palin earmarks and then got upset when this fact was shown to the world - try to be honest next time georgy

2~his plan to let the Bush tax cuts for middle class expire.
3~his plan to raise gasoline taxes.
4~his plan to nationalize healthcare for the entire world at your tax dollars.

What do you mean?
TheDoctorofSurgery 3 years ago
I can't believe these idiots have the nerve to talk about budget deficits.
ralexand56 3 years ago 7
Actually, the last time we had a balanced budget was with a Democrat in the White House. I understand Republicans can only win elections with "subjective truth," but it's impressive that they now have to flat-out lie in their ads.
Oh well! Obama / Biden ' 08
TimKraemer 3 years ago 4

You must be so proud!!!
Cheers,

Wow cmhmd. You need some therapy or something. Perhaps a cat scan? Oh well, your comment made me laugh. Thanks :)
Infantry9 3 years ago

Infantry9 3 years ago
Yes, and our rich people, in general, try to do good for the less fortunate.
we agree that growing the economy is the best way to help the poor, unfortunately this has never been Republican's strong suit. Massive deficit spending and then blaming Democrats for fixing their screwing of the pooh is their strong suit.
cmhmd 3 years ago
Sorry, "screwing the pooch!"
cmhmd 3 years ago
Got news for you cmhmd: The economy went through significant growth in from sometime in 2003 up to 2007. That was due to tax cuts that allowed people to invest into the economy. Also, the government was taking more tax revenue as a result of the growth since taxes are based on percentages. The more people and businesses make, the more the government collects. Our economy went into a decline due to people borrowing too much from banks to buy homes they can't afford and from lack of investments.
Infantry9 3 years ago
Also, the economy went into a decline under the Democrat's control of Congress. I'm not saying that they're the ones responsible for the problems but I don't see them stopping the earmark and excess spending to help support tax cuts and tax credits. In fact, I see the opposite and for the record, not every Republican lost his/her way in Congress when it comes to spending. McCain voted against bills for having too much earmarks and as President, he will veto any bill that has those earmarks...
Infantry9 3 years ago
...and make the politicians who put those earmarks on those bills known to the country so we can remove them in the elections.
Oh and if the rich people in your party want to help the poor so much, why don't they use their own goddamn money to help them? Why are they trying take money away from small and medium businesses and employees? Those rich people in the Democratic Party could also send extra money to the IRS or some cash to charity instead.
Infantry9 3 years ago
Here's a side note: "bestest" is not a word. Did you do that on purpose to make me laugh? If so, then you failed.
Infantry9 3 years ago

For a town of 6700 she got them around $4000 each of that lovely big government money.

sound like a mayor who looks after her constituents. the kind of leader i want representing me.
geargemartin 3 years ago
yeah i love it when my mayor leaves town with crippling deficits.
THIS IS GREAT NEWS!!! FOR AMERICA!
bringiton2 3 years ago
as mayor pallin left no "crippling deficts". so that makes you a liar.
geargemartin 3 years ago
geargemartin loves federal government earmark pork. McCain is against federal earmark pork.
Therefore geargemartin is against McCain unless geargemartin wants to twist logic around and claim black is white.
TuesdayAug4 3 years ago
you must have been stoned when you left that bazaar comment. good luck on your rehab.
geargemartin 3 years ago
Gotta love geargemartin last ditch defense. Accuse your opponent of being stoned. Who can deny your brilliant debating skill in that tactic?
geargemartin defends Palin fedarl earmarks, so geargemartin must love federal earmarks. Twist around all you want, geargemartin.
TuesdayAug4 3 years ago
love or hate me. i was merely illustrating how bazaar you comment was ( and this one too) if you thought those comments up sober than your worse than i could imagine. come up with something cogent instead of asinine. i mean really how old are you, 14?
geargemartin 3 years ago
geargemartin thinks that federal earmark spending is a good thing.
geargemartin: "sound like a mayor who looks after her constituents. the kind of leader i want representing me."
geargemartin is for federal earmark spending. Now watch geargemartin twist and turn to try to say geargemartin is against federal earmark spending.
TuesdayAug4 3 years ago
yep. 14 years old.

geomart, you got pwned, give up
KathnPat 3 years ago
WOW, geargemartin, someone quotes your support of federal earmarks, and instead of standing up for your comments, you resort to personal insults?
geargemartin, everyone can see you retreating from your comment with bluster and insults. You should probably just walk away.
TuesdayAug4 3 years ago
amazing i thought the three stooges were dead. well larry curly and moe i'll try to explain it in the simplest form so even you morons will understand. it is the responsibility of palin, as a mayor and as governor to bring as many resources to their state and community as possible. this includes any money's availible from the fed's. not to do so would be not in the best interest of their constituents. this is good stewardship. as a representative of the whole nation she is opposed to earmarks
geargemartin 3 years ago
Everyone undersands you think federal earmarks are a good thing. It's just confusing why you keep repeating what you said already.
TuesdayAug4 3 years ago
there is no hypocrisy here only an altered constituency. as governor palin was opposed to wasteful spending in alaska and saved her state millions there is no reason to think as V.P. she wouldn't also advocate for a responsible fiscal policy on a national level.

tuesdaychild: here's the thing you guy's don't like being called morons but you still respond moronically. your misrepresentation of my comments is tantamount to lying. not a unusual liberal tactic. either your too stupid to engage in any logical argument. or you just an agitator. either way you have no credibility with me. your at least consistent. you just keep going back to the same bullshit you spew out.
geargemartin 3 years ago
geargemartin, you defended Palin's earmark requests. You said they were a good thing. I quoted your own words back to you.
That got you really upset. Your own words. Accountability much?
Sorry you can't accept your own words. You defended federal earmarks, and even said it was good for Palin to request them.
Wow, you really want to dig a deeeeep hole for yourself, don't you?
Were the federal earmarks that Palin requested good or bad?

again you take me out of context and you mislead. i only defended palin for what any governor or mayor would do in representing their constituents. what angers me is i think you know this and are merely being a prick. otherwise you would deffinently have to be among the most stupid persons on you-tube.
geargemartin 3 years ago
My apologies. Let it be known: geargemartin approves of federal earmarks... if mayors or governors approve of them.
Thanks for the clarification!

if you had a countering argument you would have made one. you have made no arguments. you sole tactic has been to twist and juxtapose my comments to make you appear yo be relevant. your not. you have not made any coherent arguments. so you'll twist this one and confirm your lack of originality. thats ok. i'm past bored with you. draw any twisted and false conclusions you want.
geargemartin 3 years ago
Quoting your own position back to you is twisting? I did that long ago.
You defended Palin's federal earmarks. Why are you so upset by your own position?
TuesdayAug4 3 years ago
it was fun but sort of sad to watch gearge self destruct like that - he obviously defended Palin earmarks and then got upset when this fact was shown to the world - try to be honest next time georgy
