this sounds so amazing.... i'm bloody enjoying this chant very much. Although I'm a Muslim who loves his religion very much, I do have very much respect for christians who chant such templier chants. This is the sound of the good part of christianity which we Muslims respect as the religon of the Prophet son of Mary Jesus, may God's peace be upon him.
i think its strange how Western Romans get all the movies made about them, but not one producer even thinks of youre Basil, and all the others and all the great wars and ordeals. so tell Hollywood to wake up!
@acerb45666555 The West does not like Orthodox Christians and does nothing but harm them or ignore the plight of them. Just look at the lost of million Orthodox Christians in Iraq since Saddam fall or the pogams in Turkey that left thousands dead in the last 50 years. Kosovo is another example with the bombing of ancient church's and the new regime killing us in Egypt.
@cortezawwris o yes...and east likes us?? lol.. i saw how barbarians from east treat our ancient church's or should i give u a link so you can see by your self?
i do not carre,we defeted them but if you ask me i like ortodox more than islam...we'll be all together again as in ancient times when we fought against ottomans..you'll see
It is so interesting when the heart of men is in reverence of God, their craft remains everlasting. Unlike all things of the world. Only your voice required, no instruments needed.
@ComedyRoundTheCorner : Have a nice trip! Should you happen to stroll in central Athens (where most tourist attractions are) on Saturday afternoon, around 6pm, seek out Aiolou Str, No 36 (37.977122,23.727875 on google maps). There is a church there called Aghia Eirene (Saint Irene). That's the time of Vespers and you 'll most probably get a chance to listen to Mr Angelopoulos who directs here, with his student choir, if you feel like it.
@Callixtinus I can't believe how lucky I am. I go to Greece anualy. Before we get to our destination (a small Greek island called Halki) we go somewhere more popular before hand for a few days. This year the place we're going is Athens! I get to Athens on Friday so this really is perfect timing! Thank you so much I love vespers/chants so this is a really good opportunity for me. I might do some recording of the vespers and give the movie files to you if you want :)
@ComedyRoundTheCorner You should try to visit the Holy Mountain! Although no filming is allowed usually, maybe you could send something to record sound.... :)
Let us East and West together thank Holy GOD for giving us for our mother the Holy Theotokos, making us all Brethren in Christ,
