You're completely right, I had this version on my iPod for before uploading the CD versions and was really surprised to hear that is was definitely different. Metric is my music staple, and I absolutely love Emily Haines so I noticed the difference in her voice especially. I find it more melodious in this version; in the CD release one it has a bit more of an edge. I agree with the differences stridegumrox listed too, as well as noticed less synth at "Said it all before..." in this version too.
No has escuchado The Doors? No has escuchado Jimi Hendrix? No has escuchado Foo Fighters? No has escuchado Green Day?
ikr? i remember listening to this 3 years ago. i totally forgot the song/singer, until last week i was on iTunes and saw this familiar name "metric" and so i was like OMGGGGGG! COMBAT BABY! and i was so happy to find this song. though the music video is freaky...
the intro is longer and some parts are sung differnt i playd the music video 1 and this versin at the same time and this is a bit difffernt theres ur awsnser people :)
I agree this is the best Metric song and I love them all. However I am a bit confused with a few of the previous comments asking which version this is. I have listened both versions over and over and I could be wrong, yet I think it's the same album version.
no, there is a difference. this less, compact, more airey. they also added more bass drum, and didn't have the instruments as loud during their singing. the intro part is longer, there's more flaunted guitar bits, and during the 'I try to be so nice
Compromise
Who gets it good?
Every mighty mild seventies child
Every mighty mild seventies child
Beats me....' etc, is sung differently.
if you listen to the other version alot you can hear those differences.
woah this is not the album version this is much better than the original

the vocals are more produced in this version, as well.
most evident during the chorus.
