  • lol at using icy wind against someone in trick room. what a noob

  • @fiddleswith what with using ubers and all

  • Hmm, if you replace Octillery with Gastodon, you lose water spout. Wouldn't that sort of mess up your copycat strategy, I mean sure, you still have Eruption. Still though haha.

  • @Psyraine - Very true indeed! I was considering adding a special attacking Lickylicky with Muddy Water and the Cloud Nine ability to prevent the use of weather themes and strategies.

Mesprit will no doubt take advantage from using Copy Cat effectively when partnered with Lickylicky.

I also plan on taking advantage of upgrading Hitmonchan with Inner Focus once that becomes available, which in turn will allow for a more secure and safe setting up Trick Room.

  • @atreecko I was going to post this as a channel comment, but the layout probably won't let you see it. But, I have a question. Should my Heatran carry Solarbeam or Earth Power? Sunny Day is apart of the team so Solarbeam won't be worthless. Plus these moves probably won't be the main attacking move. I just need an opinion. Thanks.

  • Hah, the old Kyogre/Ludicolo lead combo. I remember when I used make teams to use on PBR, I would ALWAYS be armed to the teeth to fight them.

  • nice game especially with octillery 's energy ball :D

  • Very nice battle atreecko. Granted, even with the mistakes the other person made or the luck we have on PBR Wi Fi. Still, keep up the great battling.

  • I have a pretty good non trick room combo against scarf kyogre/ludicolo leads.

I use a max hp/spdef blastoise with fake out and a scarf abomasnow with wood hammer. No matter what happens kyogre is Ko'ed by the 2nd turn since it only makes one move.

It also works suprpisingly well against darkrai and t-room leads too.

  • @Chickenfang7 - That's a pretty cool lead and strategy you mentioned too. I'm currently awaiting Inner Focus Hitmonchan to prevent flinch's and ensure Trick Room gets up safely. That's assuming the ability is released through DW (Dream World). Octillery will also be replaced. Probably a Gastrodon with Storm Drain ability will take it's place and certainly be more of use.

  • Good work against a Rain team with your Trick Room team there, atreecko. XD

  • I've taken down these VGC teams before! Remember my Weather-Room team? I threw off SO many of these teams with that! Abomasnow and Octillery KILLED! Just like you did! lol. Glad to see ya man. I need a 3DS so you can see my White version teams because I'm still limited to a DS Lite with a WEP2 router. Can't wait for PBR2! lol.

  • I'm curious about other people's opinions. Was the Kyogre choice scarfed? Cuz I'm thinking that it might be :/

  • @Blacklash2k4 Every VGC team is the same so, yes, it's scarfed...like every Kyogre in my life I've seen. lol.

  • @ARodYankFan there are a lot of scarf-Kyogre, but also Lumberry. Especially from Smeargle users because of single item, Smeargle get scarf Kyogre doesnt

  • @Blacklash2k4 - Kyogre was without a doubt choice scarfed! I know this because the opponent immediately decided to switch, despite the fact that Kyogre can take hits rather well. My biggest fear was Ludicolo, but then again I had things covered with Kangaskhan.

Trick Room was inevitable and so was the opponents fate. To be honest, I don't think had they played any other way would have prevented the out-come.

  • @atreecko kyogre wasnt scarfed... both hitmonchan AND octilerry outsped.

  • @fiddleswith - The reason why Hitmonchan and Octillery outsped Kyogre was because of Trick Room. Trick Room allows the slowest user to go first, which is why I was able to capitalise on Kyogre. For Ludicolo using Icy Wind, the opponent had no other attacks. It was a stall Ludicolo carrying leech seed, protect fake out and icy wind. I think they should have opted for leech seed if anything...

  • @atreecko whoooops forgot about trick room being up, wasnt really paying much attention sorry :D i still think ludicolo going for icy wind was a bad move though...

  • Love that Hitmonchan. Great finish to the match!

As poorly as your opponent played in certain areas, I often have trouble where the opening combination of Pokémon is concerned. Still, you always have good tricks up your sleeve, so well played!

  • Hmm, handy strategy indeed there on Banette. Good show all around.

    Keep it up!

  • Not the smartest VGC 2010 player in the world; not predicting an obvious trick room from Banette, and having Ludicolo use Icy Wind, whilst trick room is going on.

  • @XSonictheH Icy Wind was definitely there to deal with Banette & damage Kangaskhan in the meantime.

  • @XSonictheH - I can only assume Ludicolo had no other attacking moves other than Fake Out and Icy Wind! More likely Protect, which I foiled with the use of Curse and perhaps Toxic or Hydro Pump? Either way the opponent played pretty bad. That's random wi-fi for you Jack.

  • Helping Hand, Critical, Life Orb extremespeed seems a tiny bit like overkill...

  • i thought u died

  • @AggressionSsbb -

Died - as in gave up You Tube and Pokemon?

    or

Died - as in I apparently lost my life some how?

  • @atreecko the former, why do you only post like once a month

  • @AggressionSsbb - I work in a school which takes up a lot of my time here on You Tube. PBR is slowly fading away, which I rarely play nowadays. There are plenty of You Tube up loader's that specialise in Pokemon battles. I suggest you look up a few as I'm hardly worth the time nowadays.

  • @atreecko you are aware that pbr2 is probably going to be released as a wiiu launch title?

  • you know.... with that 3x ps3 graphics lol
