Get a gbb for realism, better power, field ready gameplay low maintenance-longer life of the gun. Aeg high maintenance, high rof, cqb or field, extensive parts, breaks down a lot, parts need to be replaced all the time. It's up to what you play and your playing styles.

@DonsModz GBB don't get higher power than AEGs, it rarely happens. Also, they usually need a lot more care than AEG's, basically you should get a GBB for fun and an AEG for serious gameplay.

Why i am hesitant on buying another GBB from an airsoft company like WE is becuase i bought a 1911 from them and it keeps breaking. I already went through two 1911s. The mags leak and the safety doesn't work, also the blowback is significantly weaker now that i had it for two months. i have had a bad experience with their products, but they have "high quality GBBR" for a bargain price i cant find anywhere else. So can someone help me find other well-known GBB brands?

@ripflick If you want a GBB pistol, I'd go for TM or WA. For rifles go for VFC, Inokatsu, maybe maruzen if for more exotic choices. RA-Tech custom WE GBB rifles are pretty good too.

"Open bolt" is a misnomer. An open bolt firearm is one that holds its working parts to the rear of the bolt travel when in battery.

Regarding the WEs above, the correct terminology would be "open chamber" or "open breech".

the open bolt scar is pretty much guaranteed to break after a few mags. part 66 and 27 are not designed strong enough to withstand the force of the open bolt system.

@TODcuishuang Recoil doesn't load even a real M4, its the waste gas from the spend round that cycles it. The Airsoft gun uses gas from the magazine to cycle the gun.

I have done some work with AR-15s, G36s, and AKM-74s, but still learning. I turned from CoD though, to much twitch game play.
