We have distorted and lost the idea of God in the first place. At the very least, God is an idea that exists because people have discussed this extremely important idea for millennia!!
Some say God is the idea of the entire universe being connected by virtue of its mutual existence. We don't have to know the specific nature of what drives existence to evoke the concept of such a force, and then name it so we can refer to it and explore the idea further. Since it wasn't ME or YOU who made the world, then it was God!! This is not something that needs to be proven, it is just a conceptual starting point that has been, in my opinion, intentionally obscured!

@Rickenbacker53 Anyone that believes there is or isn't a God with 100% certainty has to supply the burden of proof which can't be done. I hold the stance that there is about a .0000001% chance there might be a God, 99.99999% of me thinks there isn't a God but I can't prove there isn't. It's just that the arguments for there not being a God are so much stronger (multiple Gods, which one is right, intervene with sheep herders 2000 yeas ago but not since... etc, etc).

I hold the stance that there is about a .0000001% chance there might be a God, 99.99999% of me thinks there isn't a God but I can't prove there isn't. The Bible is internally inconsistent. On top of that, there are still no independent documents to show that there were contemporaries who have witnessed Jesus.
Any appeal to "biblical authority" will be ignored.

I never said the UNIVERSE was created by the big bang (it wasn't just this world). I don't know. No one knows for sure. The big bang is a pretty good theory made through the evidence that we have now. BUT NO ONE knows for sure.

I say that humanity knows nothing about the life and the universe...We think that we know, but many beliefs were changed since the moment that we got rationality. Even Cience beliefs changes. We just know that everything has its own end, that some day we die...we dont know if it's just physically or if we have a soul... We cant tell if God exists or not, maybe he existed. But all I can say is: leave your beliefs, enjoy your life and respect the others.

Look. You can't claim to have proof that there is no god. You can't. But that's the point-- the burden of proof isn't on Atheism. Its stance is on the lack of proof entirely. You miss the point of your own belief system, and I find that horribly sad.

@GdoubleWB Do you understand the term "burden of proof?" I am not saying that "I have proof, and it burdens me because it's so great and infallable!!1!" No. "Burden of proof" means that theists are the ones who have to prove something, not Atheists. It's not their job, it's religion's job to prove something.
Religion's views on any form of higher power cannot be seen, and therefore cannot be measured. That means they're scientifically impossible to either prove or disprove.

He seems to want to shift the burden of proof to those rejecting the claim, rather than to the one making the claim.

But now, I've learned that we should not discriminate others for their own ways.
