@theshadowbehindme AOE 3 you cannot really build massive armies like the trailer. I love the game though I could never build my army fast enough and always built slower than my enemies and lost so i returned the game :( Lol.

I wanna get RUSE, Napolean, Empire, Medeival 2 ....one of those not sure. I am new to RTS games. Only played AOE 3.

I want to play my sister any tips how I can do that do I have to buy 2 copies of the game and go online? Can I buy 1 copy n make a copy of it? Lol.

ok i dont know much about the first or third but aoe 3 is decent but Knights of Honor deserves to be capitalized. its a fricin awsome strategy game. ablitit could be improved, but about the only things are a larger map and better military ai. its without doubt the best strategy game ive ever played.

if you want great strategy games choose from one of the following: zeus,civilisation, caesar 3 , anno, pretorians, aoe2, empire earth, partician. i'm not sayng that the other strategy games are weak they are good but these are the classics and they are the backbone of every strategy made today

I am a totaly rts ( real-time-strategy ) fan and i think Starcraft (1998) is the best of all the rts that i played yet. Maybe Starcraft 2 ( 2010 ) will be better or not. we´ll see ;)

Was that a reply to me? I just got a mail o.0..If so, then yeah. I have Rome: Total War and was immersed in it for a long time, however the PvP on it just doesn't cut it..I think you'd have to agree; pre-set battlefields and units (dependant on choice of course)

There isn't much micromanagement done with armies of those scales too, I've played a few LAN R:TW's but with the way it's set out I don't see PvP ever becoming prevalent in that type of game.

shut up about starcraft already jeez...yes its one of the best RTS's of all time...but its already too dam old and by now u should be tired of it, and if ur not u got nothing else productive to do with your life. Jeez upgrade to other more recent RTS's or at least newer ones like Supreme Commander, Dawn of War, etc

There is no "upgrade" to other RTS because the mere word upgrade would be to imply you are moving to something better.

Starcraft truely is the best RTS because it is extremely balanced. Other games that come out are a one-play sort of thing, they are made for high graphics but the imbalances in the games of today are just pathetic. DoW is just a skirmish after skirmish; no scouting for techs. SoCom is pure macro, amass units and crash. No skill.

What so special about starcraft gameplay, its zerg zerg zerg, more to do with player speed then real strategy... its age of empires in space, build a big army steamroll the enemy, seen far better RTS's.

its only merit is being fairly well balanced, that i dont deny, but a good rts on itself or the best?... not really

Startegy games have many "ingredients". Histrocial background or stroyline can be important, but a complex and balacned game with enjoyeable gameplay is far more important. That's why people wonder why you don't have starcraft on the list.

As for the gameplay, yup, I agree to that, these 4 have different gamestyle than SC, so not really compareable
