There was a time in my life where my height lowered my low self esteem so much becuase of people looking at me and staring that I rarely went out with my friends, and for god's sake I am 5ft9!But here where I live there are a lot of short/average people and you rarely see a tall girl like me! So please to all those who whisper in each other's ear or laugh whenever a tall person passes by please keep in mind that not everyone can ignore you and keep a smile on his face, some may be hurt by this!

I can say this -- for anyone that is shorter than me or not that much taller, people who insult you are jealous because they have "short man syndrome." I think tallness is nice. How tall you grow and when you stop growing really comes down to genetics. So one person might keep growing until they're in their late teens while another will stop growing right after puberty. My parents are average height, though my sister is short (5 foot 1). I'm a slender girl and stopped growing at quite an early age (14). I leveled off at 5 foot 4 and a half, which I'm completely happy with.

my bro grows realy fast in grade 6 he was 4'6 then in grade 7 he was 5 feet then now in grade 8 hes 5'5 if he keeps growing at an average of 4,5 inches he coudl reach 6'5 cause look 5'9.5 at grade 9 6'4 in grade 10 6'8.5 in grade 11 7'0 in grade 12 which he will be 18 then 7'4.5 when hes 19 7'9 when hes 20 and fianly 8'1.5 when hes 21 and he hasnt had his growth spurt yet which is amazing he wants to be in nba so i hope he grows his average and gets a great growth spurt cause it can affect it.

my friend was 6'10" at 13. However, instead of being lanky... he was like 300 pounds... this made him look even bigger as he wasnt just lanky... but more like a giant...

however, he learned to deal with the looks and just realize that he is a "big fish in a small pond"

also... this is why basketball is so great... It gives people with height an awesome advantage and he could play for some euro league make some money... (not much prolly isnt to good)

My problem is the exact opposite to that of Chris. At just 151cm I stopped growing at 13, with a very slight build. I am now 27 and at 20 I developed a bone condition & as a result I've shrunk just over 8cm in upright standing height over the past 6 years or so and doctors say I will certainly shrink even more without regular treatment.. I'm now just under 143cm and suffer fractures very easily indeed. I sympathise with Chris but from a different perspective. Good luck Chris.

Well, i guess that's pretty tall for a girl, i guess. But not something that im not used to. Here in DK most of the people are pretty tall. The average height for a girl between 16-19 is 5'6 and boys its 5'11,5 (181 cm) Which actually is my height. One of my friends girlfriend is 5,10,5 (179 cm) If you came here you'll probably feel normal, maybe even short xD
