Fender and Squier has done it for a few sigs.

But at the time, from what I heard, Mustaine was also attempting to get some investors to buy Jackson guitars in 2002, but RIGHT before he was able to, Fender made the deal. So, this pissed of Mustaine a good bit, so he went to ESP.

A lot of people were also leaving Jackson because they either because of the Custom Shop or they didn't now what would become of Jackson.
