@Lazergoatproductions. What? I have to tone down the shadow settings, but otherwise I can play WoW on PERFECT settings with only a few slight stutters ever 10 minutes. (it plays perfectly on medium settings)

I love this laptop - its of the more affordable type for those on tighter budgets (AKA students who don't have parents to buy a $2000 apple ha!), yet still does most of what you want, unless you're into more intensive design programs.

i love this laptop, i'm writing on it right now, it's compact but comfortably spacious. when it's opened up it has a very cavalier presence. rather than shove ports all over 4 sides, it has 2 clean little sections for usbs, etc. and seriously, has any laptop ever made had great speakers?

absolutely. its the perfect balance between desktop replacement and travelling laptop. it has an absurd amount of disk space (435 gb), a seemingly infinite battery, a full size keyboard, light and skinny as a feather, the only windows platform ive ever used where itunes doesnt lag everything, and i've never gotten so many compliments on appearance

Yeah my only issue so far are the speakers, which are 'ok', but far too 'tinny' on most settings. Of course like you said, external speakers and head/earphones fix this lol.

It runs so smooth compared to all the computers I've had before.

i have a toshiba satellite L555d which is probly the same model as this one..i played wow and the expansion on this comp and it works fine.just dont put everything on ultra settings...its more then good enough to play wow on..i also played counter stike source and other source games it works fine to..u get over 50 fps on it..it comes with 4 gigs of ram..2.2 ghz dual core amd processor.ati 3100.over 250 gigs or hard drive space.and if it only has windows vista.youll get a windows 7 copy for free

I bought the L500-19Z for £499. Good, reliable, solidly built laptop for the money you pay, however the speakers are AWEFULL! They are VERY tinny! If you listen to a lot of music or watch a lot of movies then that laptop is not for you!

For the average user this laptop is more than enough. You are getting a pretty fast processor (core 2 duo T6600) and 4gb of RAM. That means the sims 2 or 3 will work fine on it. The only bad thing about this laptop are the speakers, they are dreadfull even for a laptop. However I bought this for work and not for music/movies and it is serving me well! Toshiba allways build solid and reliable machines and for an extra 100 quid you can get a version with graphic memory and harmon kardon speakers!

The speaker sound quality is rubbish. They sound very cheap and are very tinny, volume levels are fine though. Other than that the laptop is AMAZING. The speakers don't bother me much as I mainly use the laptop for work and have a desktop if I need to watch movies. With headphones the sound was fine. If you can afford an extra 100 quid then take a look at the A500-19X as that model has Harmon Kardon speakers and dedicated graphics.

I know, I just bought it and LOVE it, but I'm already getting peer flack for buying this instead of a mac or something. For what I like to do (movies, note taking, warcraft, divx movies online, youtube, faster performance, quiet and even often turned off fan, large-ish screen without being too bulky or fragile, lots of space and RAM...etc) this is PERFECT for me :D

Oh, my model (Satellite L500-00F) I bought a week ago and it has Windows 7. I don't really like Vista :P so Window 7 is really how it *should* be (basically XP which learned some lessons from Apple instead of failing)

Nice notebook and nice design. Much better than on old Satellite L notebooks.

Now the notebook looks noble and doesnt have cheap look. I love it!

Consider a mobility 4650, pulls about twice the frames of the 4570.
