@DanishDraqon That's exactly what it is! The clip in spinning drum in the commercial video release is just an excerpt from this film, which was created to accompany the song live. The first time i ever heard this song was when it was played live, with this backdrop accompaniment. To say it had a major impact would be an understatement. I've never experienced a more complete musical moment in time before or since.

@ajdicks "Carbon copy of Coldplay" is inaccurate, seeing as how Mew have been a band since 1994, which is 4 years before Coldplay was even known as "Coldplay". There's nuances in the music, i.e. the changing basslines, the multiple layers of guitar, and all the chordal variations these subtleties entail. This is more than just "5 minutes of the same", as you put. If you play an instrument, you'd most probably be able to pick stuff like this out...

@chewcheepe I'm actually intrigued by this clip. If you watch the official video for Comforting Sounds, you see parts of this clip playing in that little image-viewer that looks like a lamp. My guess is it's most probably now a "free" video on the creative commons, which most probably means it was made sometime around the 1920s or 30s, and its copyright license has expired. I'd still be interested to see what it was in its original context, you know?
