Challenger is a completely different car and body style all together Chargers are B Bodys and Challengers are E bodys. The difference between a 69 and 70 was the 70 did not have the split front grille, only solid black, like the 68. The 70 also had a chrome bumper that wrapped around the entire front, not just the bottom. A 70 Charger R/T was my first car and I wish I never got rid of it. The 1971 looks better than the 68-70 in my opinion.

I have a 66 charger and I paid 14K and put another thousand into it.  If you are looking for a hot rod go middle of the road and make sure you see the car with your own eyes and drive it first. I would say 30-40 thousand is suffice. Good luck.
