@rumvodkaf1 You should check out their latest Android phone. We did a video on it. Search for "Gear65 58". It's not worth getting this phone (i7500) because it's really old now, and Samsung seemed to have abandoned it

Further more, to force you into buying a new device, they haven't even considered releasing the drivers to the open source community! Samsung was a HUGE disappointment! Spread their policy and for God's shake, do something about it!
In Canada Bell is the carrier - do not waste your money you cannot even watch this video on it because the YouTube app has move beyond the 1.5. os. Wait until the 2.1 os is offered on another phone. I purchased this phone big mistake. You cannot download Google Earth because 1.5 does not support it. The list goes on.
@mcmilch I have this phone on Bell and it works fine. Everything works fine. Google Maps is the same as Google Earth, also works good. only thing that sucks is the battery life....even with Advanced App killer installed.

Other than that it they won't allow for a clear picture at a distance of 3 feet or more, none of them. Many of the xenon flashes allow an entire pitch black room to be captured clearly. You need to get off your high horse and go read more reviews. If you did you would not be wasting your finger strength in this losing battle.

it is very likely that this will be released with the software that the G3 has (HTC Hero). This is very very recent and im fairly sure that all new android phones will have this software upgrade
Actually, just to correct you, the software on the HTC Hero wasn't google software. They were enhancements made by HTC for their own phone. That also means that technically the HTC Hero isn't a "G3", and what you saw wasn't a new version of android.
In fact, from what I was told very recently, the software you saw in the video is very very close to what it's going to look like when it's out. The only difference are bug fixes and drivers. Samsung has no plans to enhance this phone any further.
This will be my next cell in a year if there is still any other better since this is coming in December i think then i should have it by march. I hope is $200 or less since im selling my ipodtouch to buy this.

I'm sorry, I haven't played with the phone since this short hands on. I didn't have enough time with it during recording (just an hour) to go through the Gallery application in detail apart from what you saw.

I'm gonna buy this phone, but the sensitivity/responsiveness of the touchscreen worries me. I have an iPod touch, so I'm used to the sensitive and smooth interface. The typing on that seems to be hard. Is it just because of the prototype? or is it just going to be like that?
you could also try the MyTouch 3g which is made by HTC..it has alot of the same features the G1 had except the slideout keyboard..but i've been looking at the videos and the touch screen looks excellent
The G1 ist actually breaking a lot... heard from friends they are at their 2nd or 3rd G1 now... the slide out keyboard breaks on that phone.
No I really like the fact that a new (and really good) android phone comes out.
I do hate the fact that Apple patented the multi-touch features - the iPhone would be gone if they didn't because other phones would be better... Hopefully a skilled programmer can fix multi-touch to this device. Then it will be the best.
The G1's Keyboard breaks a lot... It has a somewhat bad mechanism... And it is a little slow. But still a great phone in specs...
Although I have to agree... the design was not good at all but then again it should never have been released. It was a developer model not created for the consumer but released after all due to missing phones on the launch date of android OS 1.0
It can show asian letters, but I don't know if Samsung will put asian writing in the phone when it's ready. The phone you see in the video is a prototype.
I do know that the HTC Magic (also an Android phone) supports chinese input though.

I haven't tried it yet, but since this is an OLED display, it should theoretically work better under the sun than an LCD display. :) The screen is a lot brighter than an iPhone display, I can guarantee you that.
yes, you are right, but for example the omnia hd (with an oled display) isn't easy to read with the sun on the display, but without teh sun is good. the iphone si good also qith the sun....please if you have time try to use your i7500 outdoor, it's very important for me! THX very much
I don't have the unit on hand to try it, as it is not on sale yet, and that unit in the video was a prototype which I was only allowed to play for a while, so I cannot test that for you. Sorry about that.

That prototype hasn't had the video recording app customised, so it can only do the minimum video resolution, which isn't accurate.

The G1's Keyboard breaks a lot... It has a somewhat bad mechanism... And it is a little slow. But still a great phone in specs...
Although I have to agree... the design was not good at all but then again it should never have been released. It was a developer model not created for the consumer but released after all due to missing phones on the launch date of android OS 1.0

is it possible to write japanese, korean and other characters for example in sms or -emails?(if it can show asian letters?)

There are no multi-touch features on this phone.
It can show asian letters, but I don't know if Samsung will put asian writing in the phone when it's ready. The phone you see in the video is a prototype.
I do know that the HTC Magic (also an Android phone) supports chinese input though.

hi very nice video!!! sorry a question: is it this phone easy to use outdoor, with teh sun behind teh display for example? is it at the level of iphone for the outdoor scrren viewing or not? thanks a lot and sorry for my poor english....

I haven't tried it yet, but since this is an OLED display, it should theoretically work better under the sun than an LCD display. :) The screen is a lot brighter than an iPhone display, I can guarantee you that.

yes, you are right, but for example the omnia hd (with an oled display) isn't easy to read with the sun on the display, but without teh sun is good. the iphone si good also qith the sun....please if you have time try to use your i7500 outdoor, it's very important for me! THX very much

I don't have the unit on hand to try it, as it is not on sale yet, and that unit in the video was a prototype which I was only allowed to play for a while, so I cannot test that for you. Sorry about that.

i would advice samsung before they decide to release some cheap ass looking phone....they need to learn fro the mistakes that the g1 has and the htc magic and improve on them..so far this is crap.....dirty looking with fingerprint all over the place.make. they need something like omnia HD.

Give the guy a break if he has never used the Android platform before. Also you can compose a message without having a sender. It works fine on my Magic. So maybe you should do some research first. also he said it was not the finished software so its going to have glitches. Thanks for the scoop have been waiting to see a hands on of this phone.

But, you still don't have it in your hands to judge. Big difference between, seeing, and actually using. You can't make assumptions off of seeing something. I believe they said, it's not the final hardware or what have you. Anywho.. if is was, why are you on the video then? That clearly means you don't care for the device, especially as opposed to the G1. So, what was the purpose in you even coming to the video, then commenting?

SO many imitators to the iPhone, gotta love capitalism. As usual the mantra is tweek and update on someone ELSE'S design instead of "let's invent something new."
Apple is probably laughing on their rich hippie asses watching you, and now they will pull a reverse, steal the best modifications and make an even better phone, or w/e they revolutionize next
