I'm a huge fan of Jeffrey McDaniel. Your animation doesn't add very much, really. Why did you select this poem to animate? It is, by its nature, very much stationary. Jeffrey McDaniel has written dozens of more dynamic poems that better lend themselves to animation.
I chose to animate this particular poem because I think that it is a wonderful literary work.
As such, for my After Effects class, I thought that it would be a great opportunity to share McDaniel's work with a different sort of audience. I am sorry that you did not enjoy it.
And I'm sorry to have been so pompous. If it's for an AfterEffects class, then the animation itself is fine.
To put it in a more constructive manner: I just think that the poem is full of terrific images that I think could be easily integrated-- the woman holding the phone's receiver, but unable to speak past her 166 words, for example.
I disagree. I think that the poem is so simple and beautiful in itself that adding more images and animation would ruin the whole meaning of the poem. This is a wonderful rendition, good job.
