  • Beautiful job, Yvonne...and what a gorgeous pooch, he totally fits to his "Mom"...they say dogs look like their owners. :-))

  • @jazzdiva04 I'll take that as a compliment!!

  • @jazzdiva04 As well you should...you´re both beauties!

  • Just a great all around video with a very enlightening message. Your dog looks like one in a million! :)

  • @aufheben5 Thank you so very much for taking the time to watch. He is my heart and he will never know another day of hunger or being left outside. Bichons should never be left outside!

  • thanks for keeping him!

  • @adelaida1606 I think I should say thanks for him keeping me!

  • I also have a rescue dog, and they are just the best, so loving and giving.

  • @PurdyBear1 thank you! He's my baby (in my lap at this very moment). Bless you for saving a rescue too!

  • Happiness for all people with open heart!!!

  • God bless you; we need more people like you.

  • @jennifer3572 Thank you Jennifer. He's the kindest, sweetest, little boy and I'm pretty sure he rescued me instead of the other way around.

  • Absolutely beautiful So sad that someone ever let it happen to him but now is is so loved He is a beautiful little boy and you are my hero

  • @harryandsally1 He has a life of leisure and I'm making up for the abuse as fast as I can. I wish more people would realize how many beautiful pets are being given up to rescues and the pound. They are overflowing and even full bred dogs/cats are available. There are soooo many that need homes. I wish all puppy mills could be shut down and that would be a huge start. Thank you so much!

  • At 1:47 you both smile simultaneously and have the same exact expressions. It was wonderful. I had to replay the video to make sure it wasn't my imagination.

  • @MsLindaEaves Linda, you know several people have noticed that smile! I need to post a video about something else he does. He actually chews the same leg off of his toys :) I guess it makes them more normal!

  • Never buy ANY puppy from a puppy mill. The best dogs in the world come from the pounds, SPCA, or rescue groups. They make the best pets ever....I've rescued 5 dogs with 5 distinct personalities and would do anything for them.

If you want a particular type of dog...go on the internet and search for that dogs rescue group in your area. MOST small dogs are taken from the pounds BY rescue groups...that's why you hardly ever see them at the pounds.

  • @RapIsDeadly I have told that very same thing to so many people. There are far too many animals in need. I now working on the 3rd litter of kittens in my neighborhood and the rescues are full. This is breaking my heart because I work so HARD to socialize the kittens and then can't find anyone to take them. All because someone doesn't spay or neuter their pet.

  • What a heart warming story! I have a Bichon too and I would never throw him away if something happened to him. I am so happy to know there are people like you who really care. Check out "Yvonne's Bo Dancing" and see how much love Bojangles and I have for one another. Dogs are definitely gifts from God.

  • @Yvonnesings I have seen that video! We actually emailed each other some time ago and I remember you well! Glad you got to see Sundance's video!

  • Sundance you are just beautiful and have all the characteristics of all Bichons with your unconditional love.

  • Just wonderful but of course made me cry too .... Sundance you are just beautiful. For you darling Bichon x

  • @michelle12061712 I'm sorry I missed your comment earlier. The video still makes me cry. Thank you for loving my baby too. It's such a shame he had to wait until he was nearly 3 years old to feel the love of someone but we are catching up just as fast as we can!

  • Good on you. i hate people who abuse animals. Very cruel

  • Wow amazing you both are. Love his smile and look very happy. I rescued a dog and she is THE MOST loving dog in the world

  • @ursibaby100 Thank you so much! I was told how grateful he would be and he is the sweetest baby and loves all people. I don't know how someone could have been so cruel to such a loving, sweet baby. He will never know another bad moment in his life if I can help it.

  • I'm SO GLAD you saw that. I always see that when I watch it. I also see it when he hugs me when I turn my back to the camera. Thank you for seeing the love we share. He is more special than anyone can know.

  • Sundance actually looks like he is smiling when he is in your arms, both of you smiling at the same time, an obvious shared love :-)

  • i cant comment... your dog reminds me of MY dog... he died *cry* :(

  • That's so sad. :( Who could leave such a beautiful sweet Bichon?

But how do you know he wandered the streets for a year with a broken leg???

  • We know he was left outside because of how matted he was and the vet said the degree of severity from the atrophied leg and how it had curved into a "claw" took about a year. He apparently has enough memory of it to never want to go outside alone and that's OK. He is the most pampered baby ever now....and extremely happy. He's snoozing right next to me and I'm not sure which of us is happier!

  • The poor dog. :( It makes me cry so much. How on earth did it survive?? Wow. Amazing. And I'm so glad he has someone that loves him so much!

I adopted my Bichon when he was 2. I love him so much too!

  • Thank you doggieskye for adopting a rescued Bichon!!! I was the foster mom for Sundance and I don't think there are enough words to say what a wonderful dog he is. There are so many wonderful bichons that need a new home. It's so hard to give up some of my foster dogs, but when they have a chance for a new beginning with people like Yvonne and Kevin, it makes it so much easier on me.

  • Sundance you rock, are so beautiful, and bring so much to the world! We could not agree more with everything you say. We are trying to help spread awareness about how good a rescue dog is as a way to build your pet family too, with our new song ... Next we want to help talk about how dogs ARE a "lifetime commitment." Thank you thank you, from doggies like us, Love, Your Rockin Rescue PaLs, LuLu and LoLLy!

  • Hi LuLu and LoLLy!! Thanks so much for the kind words and it is so great when someone can understand what I'm trying to say. I'm so glad you found us and hopefully together we can spread the word!

hugs and blessings, Yvonne (and Sundance)

  • Oh Sei agrees, she became my baby when someone was tired of trying to house train her, it took me 1 and 1/2 days!! I appreciate you and others like you who help support rescue and pet adoptions, your Sundance is a doll!!

  • God bless you and Sundance! I, too, am a Small Paws fan & love Robin & SPR!I have 2 bichons, & my oldest is a special needs baby. I was told when he was 8 & dx w/ diabetes, he'd die in a year. He just turned 14 (we have the same birthday), has cataracts, uveitis, cushing's, high blood pressure, gall&bladder stones, a luxating patella & I love him & his 8 year bichon sister to death. It's a lot of work& I haven't been on vacation in 11yrs, but I do it for them.

  • Thanks so much! I believe that you get exactly what you give in life. Bless you for loving that baby like you do. I'm hoping Small Paws gets noticed a little more every day.

  • What a great story..your love for each other is easy to see. God bless all of you for helping this dog.

  • aww lovely :]

  • It's so wonderful to see Sundance doing so well. I don't know if you both can get much happier. I love your story of being healthy and loving "our" little Sundance. Thanks so much for being around to take him, and for loving him. Rescue dogs are wonderful.

Love his smiles, esp. the ones next to your smiles.

  • As I sit here, tears are flowing from my eyes.

What a wonderful gift......Made me go to my fur babies and snuggle with them.

    Can't imagine a life without a bichon.

May God Bless you both, and may God Bless

  • I love this! Thank you for sharing! A Bichon seems like the best Valentine's Day gift.

We just lost our Bichon right before Christmas--he went to the Rainbow Bridge.

The world needs more people like you!

    Merry

  • Thanks for your very kind words. Bless your heart and I'm sorry for your loss.

  • Very beautiful Yvonne!

  • WOO HOO!! A nod from my other passion in life. Thank you very much!!!

  • I had the pleasure of meeting Sundance yesterday. He is a beautiful and happy dog and is bringing joy to all he meets. This video is wonderfully done and so very true. I have 2 rescue dogs and one foster dog. Small Paws Rescue is a very caring group of people who help an unbelievable number of dogs. Please consider a rescue dog for your next pet. Puppy mills are cruel and barbaric.

  • Beautiful video (:

I have 3 rescued babies of my own and 1 adopted.

  • Lovely, Yvonne! He looks happier and happier each time I see him. You too!

  • My four dogs including a special hurricane Katrina dog are rescue dogs and they could not be finer if I had paid a million dollars for each one. They KNOW and APPRECIATE being rescued from life threatening situations and they NEVER forget that fact. Rescue your next dog rather than perpetuate the cruel puppy mills.

I know the people of Samll Paws Rescue and there could not be a finer group of people anywhere in the world.

  • I was so inspired when I found out that someone was giving up their dog because of a silly excuse. Would you believe that I went to New Orleans by myself to rescue animals during Katrina? I hope to post that video soon because it's special. Thanks for your very kind words. My cats are all rescue too (strays) but now I am aware of how many people just give up dogs after their cute factor runs out or they just have better things to do than to keep their dog that loves them and knows no other home.

  • I could not believe anyone would leave a member of their family behind in the face of a hurricane. It took me almost 2 1/2 months but I found the little dog I was looking for and then drove almost 600 miles to New Orleans to pick her up.

Thank you for helping in the Katrina rescue efforts.

We, too, have this terrible syndrome of people acquiring cute puppies but then dumping them at a kill shelter once they are grown and no longer puppy cute.

  • The misconception about rescue dogs is that people think that a rescue dog is a "problem" dog. That is so untrue. It's the people that are usually the problem. Sure some dogs come with baggage, but for the most part they just want to love and please their humans. Two of my 3 dogs are rescue dogs and I can't imagine my life without them. Please consider adopting a rescue. There are rescue groups for every breed. Thanks Yvonne for yet another WONDERFUL video!! Love ya!!!

  • Thank you for being Sundance's foster mom and making this possible. As I've said before, thanks for loving him enough to give him up to a very special home. You do so much work for rescue so I wanted to do something for you. Love ya right back!

  • Thanks, Yvonne for sending a must needed message to everyone about adoption being the ONLY option. Sundance has become an ambassador for all the unchosen. God bless him and you!
