  • Wish I could sing like that.

  • @fishyfingersparty Thanks.

  • Wow! Beautifully done! I'm a composer -- may I send you some pdfs?

  • @monsieurw1 Thanks a lot for your comment.

Yes, you may send some pdfs to our channel

  • You have an amazing voice

    :)

  • Beautiful song; beautiful performance.

    Thanks for the melodious post.

  • @rockgor Thanks for your comment.

  • Bravo

  • @vanessaagraviador Thanks :)

  • I'm planning on singing the same arrangement for a recital in a couple months. Sounds great. Thanks for the post. :)

  • @BenjaminDLarsen Thanks, that was very kind. I wish you success for the approaching recital! :)

  • A classic tune. The way things are going, we'll be lucky to have ash trees, much less a grove.

  • how long did it take for you to memorize it????

  • @hcluvsyou321 Frankly, I don't remember, however - it was only a part of a whole recital-exam I had to pass in the Music Academy.

  • Regarding the movement, it's not bad to move. However, you have to be careful - your movement must be purposeful and crisp. Shifting your weight can make you look uncomfortable.

  • You are right. Thanks for watching.

  • i bet i can't sing like her. i' in the soprano but i...............*sobbing*

    it's so wonderful

  • Thanks teijokei for your comment.

  • The body movement is not distracting to me ... quite the opposite ... the singer is using her whole being to give energy to the song. I LOVE IT !

  • Thanks for the comment. I admitt that I'm confused with these opposite advices. Maybe time and my own instincts will tell me what to do while singing. Maybe body movement is another way for one to express itself and both ways are legitimate.

    Thanks again,

    Rosa

  • Lovely voice ***** But keep still - let the drama come from your face, and the words, which you express well. The original song is called 'Llwyn Onn' and is a bitter, tragic tale of a cruel father - unlike Britten's gentle English version. This 1943 arrangement is of course a classic.

  • Thanks for your constructive comment and the interesting information which shed another light on this so well-known song.

  • this is a level 5 song correct?

  • This is a British art-song, based on a folk-song. I don't know which level it is considered according to the USA learning-demands in classical-singing.

  • wow excellent :)

  • Thanks :)

  • brava.....

  • Thanks...:)

  • very nice voice.

I'm doing this song for a contest

may i ask, were you nervous?

  • Yes, I was ;) Thanks. Best wishes for your contest!

  • what do you mean :"very nice voice" ? it's a beautiful voice! most exquisite! and grate tecnique also! RESPECT

  • Thanks really, it is so encouraging coming from you - a very very good soprano yourself ! (with all the respect :)

    Best wishes and good luck!

    Rosa

  • Thanks.

  • Simply beautiful.

  • and simple thanks... :)

  • Very well sung (and accompanied). I often accompany very young singers in a simpler version of this song for singing exams, but alas very rarely get to play the Britten arrangement!

  • Thanks. The Britten arrang. is really suphisticated (in the piano-part) and it is hard for the singer to keep up the simplicity of the folk-tune against it. However, it is a challange, also to the pianist, I think.

  • Thanks ;)
