  • Great job! put that thing on wheels.

  • i wonder if the tube from the burn to the barrel, and also from the barrel to the exhaust is too short? I don't see how you are capturing as much heat as possible. I really like the simplicity of design, though.

  • The smoke will disappear if you change the region below the ton (including horizontal tube) isolierst against heat loss. Thereafter, the combustion is run much hotter and burn the wood completely.

    Good work!

  • Great work!! I love to see people experimenting with the rocket stove principles. I've got a few suggestions. The whole area where the fire is burning should be insulated (from the "T" to the barrel), and the horizontal run to the barrel should be shorter. That would make it start easier. Is the inside of the barrel insulated? If so, the benefit of that insulation would be negated by the heat loss on the way to the barrel.

  • @rich991980 Thanks for your comment. I am sorry to say that I didn't put insulation anywhere on this heater. It is now installed in a building and I hear that it works quite well as a heater. It's fun to see what you can do with a six inch stove pipe!

  • Glad to hear it's doing it's job of heating a building. I'll bet that barrel does a good job of extracting a lot of heat that would otherwise be lost up the chimney.

  • @rich991980 I agree with all your suggestions.....I think you know you are talking about..
