  • She kind of sounds like Cecilia Bartoli.

  • @rayclentchris Is Alexandrina gargling?

  • her voice is fabulous, but Rossini would role over in his grave if he heard it. this is Semiramide, not Gioconda.

  • LOVE her!!

  • thanks to someone this voice is rare :-)

  • OH-MY-FREAKING-GOD!!

  • I was AMAZED at her first performance at age

    17. Now some years later I'm overwhelmed

by the beauty, versatility - rich mezzo-like, - yet with coloratura capability INCLUDING soft high pianissimos reminiscent of Caballe at her best.

  • Certified Intergalactic! I think I'm hearing the voice of Lucia Valentini.

  • Wow! THe Semiramide we have all been waiting for!

  • Great voice, voices in this way we have some how Edda Moser, Tarja Turunen, Netrebko and many others.

Brava! wonderful!! love this type of voices!

  • Netrebko????

Please, don't ever use her name in the same sentence as Moser's!

  • I know! Netrebko has bad fiato but she has a great voice!

and yes Moser as the most wonderful soprano ever!

  • Netrebko does have a great voice, but she has more than "bad fiato" (fiatoure?) - she just has a bad technique all-around, I think. Anyway, we're going off-topic....

  • @nclysander You forgot bad taste and no respect for the composers whose music she sing.

  • @liricobarroco Oh Please! Don't you dare put the name of teh greatest dramatic coloratura that ever lived(Edda Moser) in the same sentence of a poor-trained lyric(tarja) and the I-want-to-be-a-coloratura(Netrebko). It's almost a crime... ;D

  • Fantastic!!!!! Her Elisabetta in Roberto Devereux is powerfulllllll!

  • A new and exciting sound. Dramatic coloraturas are a rare breed and I only hope she doesn't do too much too soon. Covent Garden .... get this girl over here please!

  • Wonderful voice, she is a dream

  • Any way Heraopera is not as bad as you say. When a person makes career at least is intelligent-I like enough. There are people really offensive.Nothing to do with that

  • My god, I wish I could hear her live! Amazing! Perhaps my next holiday is a trip to her performance? In Bulgaria? Where?

  • WOW!!!

  • ooo....this is very interesting and rare. love it.

  • Mes Dieux ! Quelle est cette voix ? C'est superbe parce-qu'inclassable ! Elle possède à la fois les couleurs d'une dramatique et les aigus d'une lyrique !! Chapeau bas, miss :))

  • Amazing voice! Incredible low register, amazing high pianissimi!

  • Amazing voice! how is her upper register?

  • her voice is so special like Callas caballe horne bartolli

  • Very impressive. Never heard of her before. I like her steely-rather-than-silvery timbre for Semiramide, which I've only heard done by coloraturas whose vocal color was far too light and bright for the best dramatic effect. (The tempi here, for whatever reason, are strikingly slow up until the cabaletta and still somewhat. Don't think it matters...)

  • I saw her in Roberto Devereux and found her knows really how to act other than singing. I wonder why her name is not being heard more in North America?

  • She sounds like a rare mix between Leyla Gencer and Bartoli...strange but good

  • or like a mix between R. Fleming and Bartoli?! ;-0)

  • Whatever she does, I like her singing...Stunning.

  • Foropera, you're right. After hearing her for the 3rd time I withdraw my previous comment about hearing hers as a mezzosoprano sound. I was carried away by a first impression and now I think that she rather forces to darken her tone, producing the notes lower in the throat. That probably takes a toll in overall projection and result in a lot of tension in upper register. She couldn't sing Lucia anymore if kept pushing like this.

  • mispelt "resembles"; not 'rissembles'.

  • Thank you for uploading this. Hadn't heard of her before bumping into this clip. Glad I did it because her voice is impressive. Beautiful instrument. Very good technique. With the center of the voice attached to the upper register so the higher notes positioned a little lower in the throat and the consequent tension in their production makes me hear hers as a mezzosoprano. To me, her sound ressembles the one of Bartoli's, only with less of a legato in middle lower register.

  • Interesting!!! Why have we not heard more about her?

  • Remarkable!!

  • This is Great!!!
