Use to have XM and loved it. After the merger XM changed and removed a bunch of channels. They were suppose to add some but didn't . I was also paying 14 a month for less service and come to find out was paying more for less. I am off xm till they figure their shit out.
Ive had issues with Sirius before but we had some major issues. they offered me to take a promo of a 20 dollar radio, im like awesome, theyre like 70 bucks retail. I took the offer only to find out they charged me the full retail of 3 sportster 5's. i ordered the stratus 6. they also tried to charge me 225 bucks in cancel fees. I dropped the service because of that
the power connection on my mobile unit has broken off so the unit will not powerup. model sp-r2r. any one know where i can get this fixed. and if not, does this cancle my life time sub.
@codyleee eBay has a repair service. If you have the dock connector and the middle pin is broken, you can stick a paperclip into the hole where the old pin snapped off of. It's easier if you do it from inside of the radio.

Transfered my call to another dept. 20 minutes later they still couldn't activate it on the A la Carte.
They could activate it in the full program though. So here was my problem. US account but I bought the radio in Canada. Canada Sirius does not offer A la Carte. I said to them iI don't care I have a US account. Didn't matter the radio was purchased in Canada. Why that matter's I don't know. So after sveral calls and lots of time on the phone I couldn't do it.
Before I did this I called the SID # of the new receiver I was going to buy to sirius to make sure it was on their system as a starmate 5. It was. Phoned to activate it.They wanted another $15 to activate it. I said that's crap it was a defective return.
They said they would charge me $15 but return $10 back to my account. Whatever! First call with the new radio. 25 minutes later they said they couldn't activate it.

I've found Sirius-Xm to be very reasonable with customer service. ( been a subscriber since 2003) Really no good alternative to satellite radio both for reception and content quality for a monthly cost of 1 movie ticket.

jeep5253: I've had trouble with Sirius as well. They have adopted some highly questionable billing practices. I have received backdated bills and was hit with an automatic renewals that don't let you quit! Check with the Better Business Bureau, you'll see that Siruis has a rating of "F"
How did you resolve this? We got 3mo. free with our new KIA which is about to expire, but we would have to buy a new radio to get the alacarte $6.99 package. Thanks!
Thanks- we will just listen to our cheap classical CD's and the free radio! Sometimes my radio will turn off and the sirius phone# will appear with the name of a sirius station I used to listen to.
Just got what u wanted on my starmate 4, put it in & stolen in 3 days, sirius sending me a starmate 5 to replace it.

I would just take the radio back, try a different one. You can get the sportster 5 on amazon for the same price as the starmate at Best Buy.
