Jiang Xin's face is much more representative of the classical Chinese beauty and she took the role of Mu Wanqing to a new height with her incredible talent. It'd be a tough act for the next actress to exceed her performance in that role. I think, despite her minor role, she outdid Liu Yifei in Tian Long Ba Bu by a long margin ;-)

They are all written by Jing Yon, the first 3 you listed are sequels. The 2nd has a lot of characters from the 1st, the 3rd follows the 2nd, although their connections are not big. The 4th one you listed is a separate story.

I said previously that Jiang Xin is not as beautiful as she was in Demi Gods and Semi Devils, but now I changed my opinion. Though she does not look particularly good in some other shows (mostly due to the casting designs) but she is very good looking in mostly others, e.g. she looks very cute and lovely in Chinese Paladin.

I bought this because I like Crystal Liu. However, I eventually find that I like Jiang Xin even more in this series. Too bad that she didn't have a greater part in this show. I love to see her more and find it sad to see her unhappy ending in this show.

She is very beautiful and attractive in this show. Her excellent acting made this role so real to me! I feel very sorry for Mu as til the end of the show she still doesn't know that they are not siblings.

Interestingly, I find that though Jiang Xin is not bad looking in other TV shows, she at least is not as attractive as she is in this one.

I think the overall "packaging" is crucial. Her hair style, how she is dressed, and even the personality of Mu in this story also play a major role in making her attractive. I've already liked Mu when I read the novel years ago.

It is so sad that I've never met any girl, like her in my real life. Even having such a friend will be a blessing.

I read from a web site today that the novel was revised in 2005. According to this latest revision, After Duan Yu is installed as the Emperor and Wang Yuyang becomes the Queen, Wang finds out that what Duan "loves" is the statue but not her. She destroyed the statue in order to free him from the obession. She then returns to the mad Murong Fu.

Duan finally realizes that Mu is the one who loves him the most and thus takes her as his wife (an imperial consort).

I love this ending for Mu!

In Chinese culture, it is alright for maternal cousins (her mother is the sister of his mother) to marry since they do not share the same surname.

As for Duan Yu, just before his mother passed away, she told him that it is ok to marry Mu Wanqing as the culture of Dali allows it.

@vchowca agree.. Mu in here is so much prettier and better acting/character than in 82 or 97 version. I think that's what it should be. Mu wanji should have been somebody that whenever you see her face for the first time is "wow"... not just "oh, okay"... hahaha. and even though sometime she's rude you will accept her because she's just so adorable and likeable... and Jiang Xin is perfect for the role.
