Too right, there is no skewering... it is an exchange between a good old (and a tag wiser) fela and a very wrong fela; difference is, BLAIR WAS in power then and now we are paying the price for that.
Two illegal wars, 1.3 million dead, 5 million orphaned children, destruction of our rights and civil liberties, student fees outpricing the poor of a decent education, a fall in the number of NHS beds, an MOD arming despots and militias across the world, death of Dr David Kelly, mass closure of science depts in universities, youth centres and libraries.
Blair will be charged for war crimes, it's only a matter of time.
Key words 'see it through' outlines his dedication we dont want to make the mistake america did last time. Debate is good but the world is hotting up an drastic action needed and still needs to be taken to ensure global security and stability within the middle-east.
cant pull the rug from under the army generals feet with all the insurgent terrorists running about that would really put our boys in danger.
Because of the media attention on his age they couldn't push forward with their policies and give them exposure, its a shame, some people say he's too old, but you never know that it could mean more experienced and able leader.
he did maul him but in a disrespectful way any1 that was actually listening to what was being said would realise like tony blair mentioned, that no matter how superficially appealing to the liberal democrat party and its potential voters a get out day would be it would defintely send out the wrong signal and not only that it would threaten everthing the british army has worked towards since the beginning of the conflict.
How democratic would that be though? -considering the old government has been overthrown by UK/US pressure at huge cost to us, the tax payers, don't you think there is bound to be something in it for the liberators? Why aren't we sending troops to Zimbabwe?!
I dont know, you have a valid point when u mention the talk of turnover but there was an understanding of imminent threat was there not actions like these are not always the best route of express but more often than not a standard message of conveniance is all it takes for the penny to drop and word spreads fast.Hopefully 'UK/US' forces will never enter Zimbabwe, introducing a 'new' enemy will only heighten tensions as they struggle to participate in the forming of a more tangible democracy>
Attempts are being made by surrounding countries from within their own continent who are trying to take a more democratic and judicial approach to the situation. The people of zimbabwe have done well thus far, they want change its apparently more than evident, therefore the surrounding states are better placed to understand the common sense approach and the implications for a people facing further political turmoil, it is a sensitive issue that requires support rather than a deluge of opinion.
Blair, like Bush, is a lying sack of steaming shit who has absolutely no idea what is going on in Iraq or when, if ever, his country's troops can get themselves out of that terrible mess. It is an absolute disaster.
Ming Campbell couldn't skure a chicken on a bbq! He is a terrible leader for the Lib Dems and they are getting their cummupence in the polls for the way they treated Charles Kennedy! This is why Labour will win the next general election and the Lib Dems will only have about 30 seats! He might even lose his own seat!
Ming looks like he's forgotton what they were talking about at the end. I think he should join the cast of last of the summer wine. I could just see him rolling down a hill in a bathtub
Sir Menzies is making a valid point and is obviously completely right in what he is saying, but as always blair manages to squirm is way out. He is without doubt the best speaker ive ever seen, just imagine if he spoke the truth, he'd be unstoppable!
I agree with Sir Menzies, if this is important to the Labour government, for Iraq, and for Britain, then why won't Tony Blair debate the issue with Sir Menzies?
only when Ming Cambell was leader of the Liberals did Vince Cable trully look confortable

Looks like old Menzies needed to get his facts straight!

Would've loved to see Bush try to answer that question. Blair could only do it since he has some remote intelligence.

I fail to see how Blair is "squirming" at all, if anything Blair's rhetoric is pretty imposing.

I find it amazing how a man can stand up and lie in that way, knowing that his lies will lead to the deaths of innocent people.
