taewondo is more the sports, not for street style self defence, @yuen5566 can see the weakness, some one with good foot work with nice punching technic sure KO taekwondo player easily. the fight above is like Cartoon !!!
my opinion after being 12yrs black belt in taekwondo.
What a self-righteous comment. In a taekwondo tournament, athletes just play by the rules. However, it is ridiculous that you assume these Taekwondo athletes will fight by the same rules in a real life or death situation. Please don't think that TKD players are too stupid to know the differences.
hahahahahahahahahahahhaha.....God help these guys if they came across a pro killer.
This is seriously a SPORT ONLY GAME!
Look at them!! "I kick you, you kick me, I kick you back"
No defence with the hands let alone use them for offence and when they come face to face they try to push eachother away so they can kick again.....lets see ya try that in a life or death situation and watch you get your face chewed off or your widepipe smashed
Sorry for multiple posts, tried to re-word my comment to make it more clear (and less provocative) not realising you can't delete comments on youtube (which seems pretty stupid to me).
I have alot of respect for Karate (especially Kyokushinkai), but having fought alot of them, they don't hit hard or fast enough to cause the same kind of damage these level TKD players do.
And I wouldn't of said the Hogus protect you that much? It still reaaaally f***ing hurts most of the time
I have fought against many of TKD fighters in the past. and sure, I have never lost against every single fight against TKD.
what makes difference is that, they might have more speed compared to other fighting styles, but is that really practical? I dont think so.
when TKD attacks the opponents, they arent powerful enough because they dont drop their waits when making fighting stance. Karate however makes each blow very very powerful because they drop their weights down when the fight.
The TKD guys you fought must not have been very good then, as power comes from speed (E=MC2) and i've been hit much harder by TKD guys than 'grounded' Karate fighters. I'll admit that the shots look pretty pussy when you watch them, but its a different story when you get hit by it. You just need to look at the number of injuries after any TKD competition to see that.
Well in my personal opinion having trained with people from various styles is that TKD players kick the hardest (power coming from speed [E=MC2]). I have a lot of respect for Karate, but i think of TKD as more akin to boxing. Yes boxers dont come away that injured from each fight like in Karate (unless knocked out) but you can't say they dont hit hard each and every time. Conditioning is important too, but having had several broken ribs and wrists im not sure thats all of it...
I think that we both ahve different opinion about Karate and TKD.
I feel that Karate is lot more powerful than TKD, but, for those of whom trained really hard on any field will deserve to have what they have, such as skills, strength, and power.
BTW, have you seen Seido kaikan, or Kyokushin karate fights before?
well then, I think you were very lucky that you didnt fight against people like Norichika Tsukamoto, or Hajime Kazumi, Glaube Feitosa, Francisco Filho, Kenji Midori, Masaaki satake, Taiei Kin, and etc....
well, considering fighting against these names, you cant even last two seconds...
And I could list a bunch of Tkd Fighters I'm pretty sure would beat them. But that's a pretty futile and pointless exercise. Lets just agree to disagree.
PS, in answer to the original question, these days I think the body 'armour' is more for scoring/judging purposes than actual protection (you can only score on the colour areas).
I can't believe MikeAsano is even trying to argue with you......look at this video.....they don't even guard their head or neck. TKD is a POINT SPORT and that alone....it most certainly not a fighting art. A professional fighter using all tools, hands, forearms, elbows, knees, feet, take-downs, locks and grappling holds including pressure points would TEAR THESE GUYS APART! They have no defense. I respect TKD as a sport....but that's it. What is this guy talking about....?

yin19941225 1 year ago

nn135798 1 year ago
GoFailCom 1 year ago
@GoFailCom
nn135798 1 year ago

werth568 1 year ago
johnsonboy7784 1 year ago
werth568 1 year ago
johnsonboy7784 1 year ago

yeah, I totally agree with you M3!
and this MikeAsano just want to justify how tkd is devastating, and strong.
well, he was even trying to tell me that tkd is lot harder than karate.
well, if he has balls to come out to kyokushin tournament in Sept in NY, I'll be there and would ask him to enter the tournament!
then the whole people will witness the truth!
