  • @ld4743 they were sick so we shot in two different days, so i honestly don't kno

  • This track sure brings back memories! It both makes me feel sad and happy. And these girls are so gorgeous that they give me goosebumps and thrills! 5 stars

  • ok i know no one is goin to believe me but thats me in this video, im that little boy in the checkered shirt & one shoe... wow that was a long time ago! we shot this in 1997!

  • @Rstacks88 what were they like to work with??

  • Their self-titled album was awful. The only listenable song on there was the 1 single. Angel of Mine was probably their best song.

  • Best S0ng

    Best Mem0ries

  • my fav group of all time...thanks for uploading

  • Just adore this song

  • EURGH, this song drove me crazy when I was a kid..still does..lol.

  • where can i find full version??

  • As teenagers when this came out my friends and I couldn't really take them seriously. I mean what message were they sending with the blue contacts? A little bit of self hate slipping in there perhaps? Laughable!

  • Still sounds great today. Her voice wipes the floor with most artists today.

  • Geweldig .....

  • It's a nice song. It's just UK music is so different from American music. It's not like those funky Timberland beats in the 90s you know? Lol. And she looks like Leila Ali @ 2:09

  • @DatEnigmatic The RnB/soul market is very very small compared to the US, so although Eternal were an act all over the world, they would get criticism if they tried to sound "too American". If they were "too pop" they would also get crticised. They could not win! Ultimately, they used American and British producers on their records. A lot of mainstream chart acts in the UK are aimed at children - all the TV shows, magazines, etc, because children and teens buy most of the singles in the UK.

  • @1977UK Eternal's last album 'Eternal' and single 'What'Cha Gonna Do' were the most street things they put out.

  • @1977UK

    Lol. That makes sense.

  • @DatEnigmatic

listen to Eternal - Stay ! thats full of beats !

  • of course they are lenses, they used to have brown eyes in their old videos you fool. How many full black people do you see with blue eyes!! doh!!

  • class downtempo stuff - love it

  • @madman06911 I loved eternal but I have always questioned Vernie's voice.

  • love the song it's so beautiful

  • i was only about 9 when these where famous but they must have been the best uk r&b group uk has had to offer... angel of mine is lovely

  • Deep lyrics.

  • Who is at 1:20 she is perfect! What a face. Smoldering, sultry. WOW!

  • i swapped thissingle for a porcelain doll with my friend back in the day hahaha

  • hit' em up tupac!!!! lol

  • I would agree, but while Vernie's voice is of a similar sound to Easther's. Kelle's is just SO different. She has a really squeaky high pitched voice and it would be odd to have one singer doing a line, then the next line going to the other, etc.. Listen to Vernie's track Still In Love and Kelle's Higher Than Heaven to see what I mean.

  • geweldig

  • Oh, how I miss good music! The Bennett sisters are stunning especially those eyes.

  • :-) Contact lenses.

  • @1977UK No, you can tell the difference between contact lenses and natural eye colours, these are beautifully natural.

  • @rn1432 Actually, if you look their video for Just one step from heaven, there you can see their natural brown eyes. These are lenses.

  • @Isauria of course they are lenses. They started using them after the release of their second album. See "Power of a Woman," the first single off that CD and their eyes look different than anything filmed in1994.

  • @Isauria exactly!!!!!

  • Louise left of her own accord. Kelle and Louise went to the Italia stage school together and Easther and Vernie were sisters. They were put together by their manager. Kelle is not related to Easther and Vernie. Easther and Vernie are from Croydon South London'Surrey, Louise was from Eltham South East London and Kelle was from Forest Gate East London. Everyone always says they're from Croydon or Lewisham. Not true, altough I think Louise was born in Lewisham.

  • Louise was born in Lewisham hospital, same as me! but she grew up in Eltham

  • easter bennett is a stunner

  • Comment removed

  • Objectively ,they are beautiful women and they have very good and strong voices.

  • UK music very difficult for the ear to miss.

  • louise left on her own accord, kelly is the cousin to the other two. The group did well, unfortunately, over time, people stop appreciating decent singers and manufactored bands came into play.

    They are NW/London girls

  • @BethKenneh Kelle is in no way related to Esther or Vernie Bennett Kelle Bryan was best friends with Louise Rednapp then Louise Nurding, the two girls went to drama school together, Esther was spotted by a talent agent in a club whilst she was doing a set she told the agent about her big sister Vernie she joined then Louise then Kelle joined as she was suggested by Louise, Lousie left in 95 Kelle left in 99 due to a fall out with the Bennett sisters, the sisters released there final LP in 2000.

  • @BethKenneh ummmm Kelly was not their cousin sorry to say, Google it if you don't believe me, but other than that statement I agree with the rest of what you said :-)

  • @BethKenneh they were a manufactured band!

  • love this and video..

  • the gorgeous white girl??? hahaha Louise Redknapp!!! (left the group in '95)She just left and released 4 albums on her own.

  • whatt. monica isn't american? 8/

  • Monica is american.

  • wait...they're not american?

  • No they are not. They are from the UK

  • All the members of Eternal were born in the UK

  • People are fickle and were put off after the Kelle split. It looked bad losing Louise and then Kelle. Also, people only heard What'Cha Gonna Do. It was a really more RnB sound than what the audience were used to, plus it was released just before Xmas in a time when it's hard to do well in the charts with lots of greatest hits albums.

  • wow u are well clued up on dis band lol i lost intrest after louise left angel of mine was the only 1 i liked!

  • This was their best song by far. Their latest album entitled Eternal (which only featured the sisters) was quite good. I never understood why it flopped. Before The Rain was their best album though. Brings back many memories while watching this, I was like 6/7 back then and I remember my mom loved this song (along with I wanna be the only one)!

  • It didn't chart very well in the UK because the press really turned on the sisters when Kelle left the group. Kelle said she was fired and made some really nasty accusations, etc, etc. Long story!

  • Yeah I've read about it back in the day, but even if the press was negative about the sisters, it has nothing to do with the the audience, they should've purchased the album and not care about what's done or said... And that's why I never understood why it flopped cause it had some quality songs on it.

  • they used to be my fav group wish they would get back together they all have beautiful voices and all their songs are so nice. thanks for posting

  • never heard this song before, but this group was really underrated!!!!! I love their other song, "stay".

ugh!!!!! they were really blowing/piping in that song/video.

  • Glad you like!

Listen to their other songs too - They are brilliant. Just A Step From Heaven, I Am Blessed, Power Of A Woman, Angel Of Mine, I Wanna Be The Only One, What'Cha Gonna Do, Oh Baby I, etc, etc.

They were one of the biggest selling acts of the 90s in the UK - 15 top 20 hits and 4multi-platinum albums. They had hits over the world, but EMI only released their first album in the US - which is CRAZY! Such a shame!

  • that's friggin crazy!!!!!! i didn't even know they came out with 4 albums like that. so they never became famous in the u.s?

i see the other songs/videos that you listed that are to the right-------------------->

  • Yeah. They had 4 studio albums and a greatest hits. They are noted as the most successful R&B act from the UK and they were the only successful female group from the UK in the 90s until the Spice Girls et al.

  • LOVE THEM..seriously underrated i rekon!

  • They are all so beautiful. Kelle has the prettiest smile, and Vernie has this poise about her, and Easther has the most beautiful voice. I don't know if anyone else has ever noticed that Easther has really little hands. lol.

  • i love them, they are so underrated!!

I love power of a woman best, was their best album. stylish and smooth.

  • this beat is also used in 2pac's song called "hit em up"

  • best Eternal song

  • Watching this video sure brought back memories. I was 19 and had just moved out of home, which for me was a 1.5 hour flight from Sydney to Brisbane.

  • Awesome song

  • Just perfect, do some music like this

  • remember this song when leicester city drew 1-1 with middlesbrough f.c and ther played 6th april 1997

  • this song is awesome!! is soooo old, but still actually!! when I listening this I always feel hmmmmm...

  • I'm still waiting for a new song...

    come on, girls!

  • .."dont you love me..dont you love me no more!"..aww_mann..ii love this song..

..iim not going too lie..ii just happen too kome across this song, but iim deffinely glad ii did..1996 and 1997 were good years for alot of R&B groups, and artist..

..ii love music..ood music..ii kan always tell whats MUSIC, and whats just another song..

  • Before The Rain was my least favourite album:

My fave was Power Of A Woman - pure style, soul, RnB, pop and ballads.

Before The Rain was disjointed with Kelle's lame solo tracks stuck on the end. Nice girl, but her voice is just weak.

I like the 4th album Eternal (as a duo) and the Greatest Hits because some of the singles were better than the original album versions.

  • This song came from their 3rd Album and that was clearly their best Album. They had grown musically and reached their creative peak.

  • 1996 a year to remember that will never die or be for gotten for

  • The album this came from was called "Before The Rain". Connected to the video I think.

That album had more socially aware songs on it like Someday from the Disney film "The Hunchback of Notre Dame" and Grace Under Pressure.

  • I guess they are all

    AMAZING!

  • Well i am going shakethings up a bit, the eternal girls are christians hencethe name of the band christians believein eternal life, listen to the song really carefully and these are the questions we ask god example -God don't you love me because i am homeless, ill etc, just listen again and you may get my point re listen to all of their songs x x

  • Does anybody know who each of the characters in the video represent? I've always wondered about the significance of the little boy and the suited man he hugs in the end, or the older lady and the younger lady etc-etc-etc. What does all that represent?

  • I think the people in the video are individuals who feel like they've been rejected by society in some way. So there is the old lady who is homeless, the boy has to steal food to feed himself and his family...hence the question "don't you love me no more?"

  • Oh ok, cool. Then maybe you can explain the significance of the end - the rain and then everybody hugs and whatnot.

  • I'm not sure what the rain means...but I think the people hugging is just a way of saying that there is light at the end of the tunnel and no matter what struggles we go through in life there will always be someone there to help you.

  • Wow.....thanks! That's so deep.

  • Wonderful!

  • envogue are sooo much better

  • I love En Vogue with a passion but I think they are both great groups!

  • i think that envogue is better too, what i prefer about them is that there was no lead singer, they were all indivdually great and were a total powerhouse when they harmonized...with eternal its like 1 singer and 2 bakcing vocallists....i like when groups share vocals equally...

  • I saw it and I love it!

  • Eternal have a great tribute band called Young Divas - winners of Australian Idol!!! - have they ever played in Europe?

  • good song - forgot it existed

  • weren't there 4 girls?

  • Lousie Redknapp (the 4th member) left after the first album and they stayed a trio nutil 1998, then Kelle Bryan (the one one the let with the short hair) left and chopped it down to a duo and they released thier final album in 2000, I'm a big fan of Eternal and I'm from the states, LOL

  • remember this song wen r wer at college in 1996 and leiceter city drew 1-1 with middlesbrough ravenelli got first and heskey scored for leicester city

  • This group is so underrated.

This was by far their best Album and It showcased their true Vocal talents.

This music is much better than the crap that is topping the chartsof today.

  • yeah that's such a shame especially when we realise that medias are in a huge part responsable to what happened to them..

destroy great artists whom have such a talent that's a shame!!!

  • Mihai,nu te-am uitat nici dupa 12 ani :((

    P

  • this is just great! old school rnb! wooow! brings the memories back!!!!!!

  • What a song, These girls got better once louise left.

  • whoa, beautiful eyes!

  • Yeah...theyre very piercing!

    Lovely...

  • the lead singer is so beautiful.

  • I know Eternal since their first single "Stay". I´m from Spain and R&B music does not sell well but they haved a big success with "I wanna be the only one" and then, they came out "Angel of mine" and that was it. Whay they dissapear in their greatest moment? I never understand why groups keep doing that. DC, Total, Brownstone, 702, Miss-Teeq... What happen to them?

  • Did you guys in Spain not buy their older songs? I Wanna Be The Only One was their

13th single and they were on the verge of splitting when they released Angel Of Mine from their Greatest Hits.

What chart positions did they reach in Spain?

  • I have all their albums but this kind of music is not well receive. In Spain, the first single that we could listen on the radio stations was "Someday". Then came "Don´t you love me". Both had a relative success. Regards,

  • i miss the 90s!

  • i agree,those girls are georgeous

  • esther is georgeous

  • bring then bk

  • This takes me back to when I was just a child at 11 years old! It reminds of thinking I was so grown up coz I was in year 6 at primary school!

  • I love this song. Thank you for all the great songs Eternal :)

  • Man they should've been alot bigger than they were in the US, I still got their first album

  • OMG!!! Do I remember this

  • I like the video & the song...THNX to Eternal band...

  • what happened to them, are they alive, why arent they singing

  • As if this song is 11 years old! It still sounds amazing today, kinda like 80% of Eternal's back catalogue. LOVE LOVE LOVE it.

  • My fave Eternal song, it's brilliant.

  • Peter, leave me alone you filthy pervert. I don't like your music and I don't want to see you again. You do nothing for me except scare me and my boyfriend.

  • I do love this song!

  • Yea i agree wit u guys...

Tis is one of my fav LOVE songs for all time!

    I still hav their album...

    I do love yaz!

  • i used to adore eternal, they were so good. way before their time. totally under estimated and under appreciated, ppl weren't into r'n'b music that much when thry were out. they would be huuuge if they were still makin music today

  • I totally agree with you!

  • First kiss, first touch, first love, first tears because of love...this song remembered me my best and happiest period from my life!!!

  • omg my childhood song brings me back memories, reminiscing right now

  • Where i can find this song on mp3?

  • love them so much...missed them terribly.

  • where i can find this song on mp3?

  • Classic, thanks a lot from KingBangkok..

  • One of my fave songs ever - and fave videos!!

  • does this girlteam still exist? their last song is singins only by two of them

  • 2:43 - 3:46 fantastic build up to a spine tingling outro. One of the best songs of the 90's.

  • Tell me about it! I watched it in Brazil for the first time on the MTV video clips in 1998! Could not believe when I found this! Thank you Isauria.

  • Fantastic... Those girls were so sexy and had so much talent... Really, beautiful song.

  • This is the best song ever made by any R&B band No one can do better.

  • cool song!

  • Didn't think I'd see ever see this fantastic video again after the last time it was on here and they deleted it. Thanks so much for uploading this, you've made my day! Eternal were amazing, much better than any girl bands that have been around since...they had something special and I miss them.
