  • this is my summer reading book an after the teachers pick it they find that mpre than 1/4 of the book is false. this guy is kind hearted but sucks for lieing. over all the guy is a dick an this book is shit.

  • @NotAtAllXD yeah, Greg Mortenson isn't cool anymore, and I still dislike his book.

  • A-M-A-Z-I-N-G review buddy! I`m still reading the book and I`m completely overwhelmed. Without a doubt this is the bestest book I`ve ever read in my life. His story is so much inspiring. Every one in the world would read this book, from the great leaders to the ordinary people...

He became my HERO as well...He alone accomplished so much for those forgotten ppl from that so remote areas from Pakistan n Afheganistan n always keeping the due respect for their traditions n beliefs.

  • Hmm... I feel like I've heard about this book before. I just might have to check it out!

  • I don't think their are plam trees near K2 lol

  • You have a pink bass guitar behind your drawer. Did you know that?

  • I liked the story, hated the writing style. Relin undoubtedly has the power to single-handedly make God cry. Greg Mortenson is totally cool though. :)

  • @bulletproofpunk It wasn't exactly riveting, but the story made up for it!

And yeah - that's my old bass...got it for free from a gay friend. :P

I was just considering buying Stones into Schools (the sequel) today. Decided to get a book on Indonesia instead though 'cause I'm traveling here now.

  • @bulletproofpunk Especially since he's a liar!

  • scratch the "lol"

  • lol

    look good

  • Great review! Thanks for sharing the story with us. It's unfortunate that with all the money there is out there in the world, so little of it is being used to help those in need. I can understand why you're pursuing that goal of yours in the summer. I can't wait to hear all your stories. Good Luck!

  • hey, great review... the only think i would like to point out is that Greg Mortensen mentioned he wanted to teach girls because thats another way of fighting terrorism. Supposedly when a terrorist wants to bomb a place, he has to first ask permission from his mother..

maybe im wrong, maybe im right..

    thanks

  • I think I vaguely remember him mentioning something along those lines. Seems kinda wild that a pack of forceful, angry mothers might be able to stop something the whole US army can't seem to quench.

  • Hey man great vid. This really helped me review for my class. Thanks for that.

  • Another awesome teacher sharing this book with their students? Sweetness!

    Glad I could help~

  • My high school students just finished reading this book for summer reading. I hope you don't mind if I share your review with them. It is one thing for me to share my reactions to the book, but it is so much more powerful when students see other young people talking about the books that inspire them. Thank you!

  • As a teacher myself, I'm honored that something I made could be useful in the classroom. If we teachers don't stick together and help each other out, who will help the teachers?? :P

No, but seriously - it's a great book, and your students are lucky they've got a teacher thoughtful enough to share it with them. Best of luck!

  • just ordered it off amazon. thanks for the recommendation! love your vids dude!

  • That's awesome man!

I hope you enjoy it! :D

Let me know what you think~

  • have to read it for summer reading this year. havent started it yet, but im glad you liked it. im excited to read it now

  • Hey Jennygirl~

Your teacher is a god/godess and should be showered with praise and kindness. :P

Nah - really, it's a great book, and I'm happy to do whatever I could possibly do to encourage more people to read it.

If you have any thoughts/questions/opinions you want to share while reading it, don't hesitate to comment or email me! ^^

  • you go to cms? i gotta read this book too

  • lol 8:49

the baby is holding a friggin war weapon and the kid is like eight months old. lol

  • Thanks a lot for watching!

In my opinion, this is one of the most important videos I ever made - I really appreciate when people check it out. ^^

The reality in a place like that is so much different from reality in the rest of the world, right?

It really turns your world upside-down to go somewhere like that. Imagine a place where it's normal for an 8 month old kid to hold a friggin war weapon...

  • Ha ha I know. It's really sad though. Great book review. ou chose a great book to do. It's my favorite book. Im not trying to be mean but I thought it was just funny in the picture. Amazing review! Keep up the good work!!

  • Thanks for the kind words!

If you'd like to share information about the book with any of your friends, please send them the link to this video. ;)

    Take care~

  • You are welcome.

I really think the world should read Greg's story so I see why it is required intelligence reading for he army. I think I'll send it to my friends.

    Maya

  • Haha - good eye!

Glad you commented on this one. This book is really amazing. Definitely recommend everyone check it out~
