screw all those big receivers. they got there bruce in lloyd ( i know not as good) now they need to fill in. bradford could get it there but come on get some speed out there.
I've been a Ram fan since about 1965, the days of the "Fearsome Foursome" and Roman Freaking Gabriel. There were sooo many "good" teams but never any "great" teams. They were always good enough to give you hope, then rip your heart out! The championship year was absolutely the most incredible season, I believe, that any team has ever had. Worst to first. Point machine. Boxboy to MVP Warner. Faulk. Bruce. Most entertaining team ever. If the RAMS can win a Super Bowl, anything is possible!!!!!
There were multiple late hits in the SB vs new england. Not to mention a few plays where Warner was blatantly punched in the head after he threw the ball. I remember when Bruce got slammed out of bounds by harrison too. We were the better team. Belichick was a genius and figured he would hold and mug our receivers all night. I mean you can't call a penalty on every play and Bill knew that.
sure was fun watching them lite it up. As for 2002, Rams should have, and would have won it, but for Bellicheat. Pats taped Ram practices and tackled Ram receivers, especially Marshall. And they still had to kick a FG on the last play to "win". They changed the rules after that to keep defenses from illegal contact. Nuff said.
GTOT should have won 2 super bowls...I have no idea what Mike Martz was thinking against Belichick in 2002. Marshall Faulk was shredding the Pats D but Martz just kept calling pass plays. smh
@VesusSheist you don't remember? they were mugging faulk every time..they had one and even two players run to him and hold the shit out of him...they actually got away with a ton of things that would normally be considered penalties
they were holding the shit out of him, there was nothing anyone could do...the refs sure weren't going to put a stop to it (even though it was illegal)
The Saints do run the same basic offense that the 99 rams did (Air Coryell). The Packers, however, have been running the Bill Walsh/Lavell Edwards West Coast Offense for about 15 years or so. However, the WCO is built off of the Air Coryell, in terms of timing of receiving routes, spreading the defense out with the passing game, using running backs as receivers, blocking schemes, etc.

@TheExovaldes well yeah but brees and rodgers also have golden laser rocket pinpoint accurate arms and both have 4 great receivers (holt-bruce-hakim-proehl are like colston-henderson-moore-meachem and jennings-driver-nelson-jones, respectively)
It would be nice if they would leave Paul Zimmerman's "insightful" comments off of these NFL videos. Dr. Z (joke) and Peter King are the most worthless sportswriters around.
@ROHORunner45 they didnt need the west coast offence they ran a version of the air coryell offence, bruce and holt didnt have the hands needed for the WCO but they had the speed needed for the coryell offence wich streches the field
wait till next year when all injuries are healed bro, playoff bound, and possibly superbowl bound! but hell we in the playoffs this year! just gatta beat the skeet hawks
"Warner was only good because he had boldin and fitz" B.S Fitz/Boldin were on the Cards SINCE 2003! If fitz/Boldin were so good wouldn't Luke McCown have lead them to a super bowl appearance? Wouldn't have Leinart led them to a super bowl? NO! AS SOON warner became starter they went from 5-11 to 8-8 to 9-7 to 10-6. As soon as Warner RETIRES they slump back .300 Fitz carried that team? Bull-shit. Warner did.
@Synicaalescape while its true that warner was good with the rams and cardinals, u gotta remember that while he was on the giants he didnt have much success at all. i think that he was a gr8 qb, hall of fame worthy, but without his wr's he wouldnt have succeeded. on the rams he had holt and bruce and on the cards he had boldin and fitz who contributed a great deal 2 his success
@Synicaalescape and remember. Warner won a super bowl and owns all three super bowl passing yd records. 2 mvp's. and he broke his hand in the middle of his career. he even stated it never healped properly. or he cud have gone down arguably, as the greatest.
@kingbear8993 i agree. but you never know how long jackson will be there. Avery needs to stay healthy. i think we could use a shutdown corner(s) for our pass coverage. Bradford is picking it up quick. and we have leaders on both sides of the ball. give it a year or two and we're gonna be the best show on turf...again.
Mark Clayton needs to get healthy too. He was actually top 10 in league in yards until he got injured. But yeah St. Louis could really use a elite wide-out
@Synicaalescape oh yeah definately. Mark Clayton and Sam Bradford was one of the top QB/WR duos in the league at one point this season. we have young talent too that will just get better and better. the Defense is almost set, but we kinda need more DB's.
I miss those days. We might not ever see a Rams team (or any team) like that again. Fortunately Bradford looks like the real deal. I predict good days ahead for this team.
As long as Bradford stays healthy and out of trouble, he will break all kinds of records. Hes is DEADLY accurate, and with Laurinaitis controlling the D, we will win the Super Bowl within the next 4 years.
Gotta love how the rams are starting to turn things around. They were 1-15 last year but now they have the potential to be a playoff team. The defense is actually pretty damn good now. and then Bradfords having hot flashes of a great quarterback! A little more weapons at the wide receiver spot and looks like they can take the division.
So there have been discussions about who had the greatest defense ever in the NFL some say the 76 Steelers some say the 85 Bears and some say the 00 Ravens, but I dont think there is any discussion that the Rams from 99-01 had the greatest offense in NFL history

take this from a die hard NINERS fan: Marshall Faulk was the MOST versatile RB of all time. Yes fellow NINER fans...i'd take Faulk over Roger Craig. Although I still love Craig.
@PatsRule07111 The Redskins, Pats, Vikes offenses never won the big thing. the SUPER BOWL. And they were basically one hit wonder offenses. But the 99' Rayums won the championship and they also scored 500+ points for three years straight! (NFL record) and from 1999-2001 ALL The MVP winners were on the same rams team. No offense beats the 99' rams. NEVER!!!
The fucking Patriots cheated the Rams out of the Superbowl in 2001 and my Eagles in 2004. Had it not been for there cheating I say the Rams would'e stayed on top for afew more years.
@FordCopChrist1995 They got rid of Warner around 02-03 when he got hurt. They used Marc Bulger instead and while he was a pretty good quarterback, a pro bowl player, he was not Kurt. Kurt was the QB that could make the offense overcome the defense's flaws. The defense wasn't the worst defense in the league, but it wasn't a top 5 one so when the offense lost its ELITE spark, the defense couldn't bail them out and now the team is rebuilding.
@Coganboy What a mistake getting Warner was. He later led the Cards to the Super Bowl so he was still elite, the Rams will have to see if Bradford can provide the spark Warner did.
congratulations u has discovered sarcasm mffl2008. we r shit n im not liking the moves we r making so far this offseason. talk of carriker going to skins now too
... yeah... sorry about that I as at work dicking around... but yeah I just saw that on NFLTA, according to them the Rams have multiple suitors for Carriker.
@MFFL2008 hope he stays n can be injury free, we need all the decent players available if we r to be not quite as shit this year roll on the draft. would go for suh n mc coy in second round myself but im not a yank n have not seen too much of these boys
@marlon50tins well I think if they got a true DT they could move Carriker to DE his natural position, maybe get Bradford #1 overall and a guy like Terrance Cody in the 2nd round, or Benn in the 2nd round and hope a guy like Cody falls to the 3rd round
It's not so bad. I know the Rams haven't done much in terms of offseason moves. But all they need to do is draft a QB, 2 WRs, a TE, 2OT, 2OG, a C, 2DE, 2DT, 3LB, 2CB and 2S that are all ready to start in the NFL.
Wait, the Rams do have 20 picks in the first and second round right?
"The Greatest Show on Turf" is a book about the '99 - '01 St. Louis Rams truly memorializes the legacy Warner left in St. Louis. It's available online on Amazon and Barnes and Noble.
IMO!! u guys are hilarious. The rams didn't have bad defense at all, they were ranked 4th in defense in 1999, they weren't bad at all, Leonard Littler,Kevin Carter,London Fletcher,Dre Bly, but then again you guys were probably too young to remember that.
@MFAULK2828 Maybe Marshall is the greatest player of your time, but what about Walter Payton, Gail Sayers, Franco Harris, Billy "White shoes" Johnson?
I totally love the rams. I`m a die hard fan who has never given up on them since 1972, and I won`t start now!
@JoeSteph24 They are some of the greatest NFL runningbacks of all time! I personally love the passing game though, and my favorite Ram of all time is Tory "Big Play" Holt who is a wide out.
how did "white shoes" make your list? He was an average wide receiver at best. As far as the running backs you mentioned, Faulk was better than those three. The smartest player probably to play pro football.
and bad draft choices. They haven't drafted a decent first rounder since who....Torry Holt and maybe Adam Archuleta. I look at this video and my stomach turns from the garbage team the Rams have become. SIGH...those were the days

The fucking Patriots cheated the Rams out of the Superbowl in 2001 and my Eagles in 2004. Had it not been for there cheating I say the Rams would'e stayed on top for afew more years.

Shit, what happened to those kick ass rams lol. They went from the talk to the joke of the NFL now.
FordCopChrist1995 1 year ago
@FordCopChrist1995 They got rid of Warner around 02-03 when he got hurt. They used Marc Bulger instead and while he was a pretty good quarterback, a pro bowl player, he was not Kurt. Kurt was the QB that could make the offense overcome the defense's flaws. The defense wasn't the worst defense in the league, but it wasn't a top 5 one so when the offense lost its ELITE spark, the defense couldn't bail them out and now the team is rebuilding.
Coganboy 1 year ago
@Coganboy What a mistake getting Warner was. He later led the Cards to the Super Bowl so he was still elite, the Rams will have to see if Bradford can provide the spark Warner did.
FordCopChrist1995 1 year ago
people may say im stupid but in my opinion barry sanders marshall faulk and jim brown are the best RBs ever

@marlon50tins was that a joke, you just named every part of an offense except the backfield
MFFL2008 1 year ago
congratulations u has discovered sarcasm mffl2008. we r shit n im not liking the moves we r making so far this offseason. talk of carriker going to skins now too
marlon50tins 1 year ago
... yeah... sorry about that I as at work dicking around... but yeah I just saw that on NFLTA, according to them the Rams have multiple suitors for Carriker.
MFFL2008 1 year ago
@MFFL2008 hope he stays n can be injury free, we need all the decent players available if we r to be not quite as shit this year roll on the draft. would go for suh n mc coy in second round myself but im not a yank n have not seen too much of these boys
marlon50tins 1 year ago
@marlon50tins well I think if they got a true DT they could move Carriker to DE his natural position, maybe get Bradford #1 overall and a guy like Terrance Cody in the 2nd round, or Benn in the 2nd round and hope a guy like Cody falls to the 3rd round
MFFL2008 1 year ago
It's not so bad. I know the Rams haven't done much in terms of offseason moves. But all they need to do is draft a QB, 2 WRs, a TE, 2OT, 2OG, a C, 2DE, 2DT, 3LB, 2CB and 2S that are all ready to start in the NFL.
Wait, the Rams do have 20 picks in the first and second round right?

Kurt will be missed.
"The Greatest Show on Turf" is a book about the '99 - '01 St. Louis Rams truly memorializes the legacy Warner left in St. Louis. It's available online on Amazon and Barnes and Noble.

I really hope the bears sign Mike Marts as their offensive coordinator.
beardownchitown 2 years ago
IMO!! u guys are hilarious. The rams didn't have bad defense at all, they were ranked 4th in defense in 1999, they weren't bad at all, Leonard Littler,Kevin Carter,London Fletcher,Dre Bly, but then again you guys were probably too young to remember that.

Thank you!!
Fanatixtube 1 year ago
The Defense in 2001 was good too. They would've given up even fewer points if the Offense didnt keep turning the ball over.
the512messikan 1 year ago
Yeah, in 2001 Kurt Warner threw like 22 interceptions. But at -least he threw 36 td's.
Synicaalescape 1 year ago
It wud be funny, if the Isaac Bruce,Torry Holt,Orlando Pace,Kurt Warner went back to the rams, and Marshall Faul came outta retirement.

MFAULK2828 2 years ago 2
@MFAULK2828 Maybe Marshall is the greatest player of your time, but what about Walter Payton, Gail Sayers, Franco Harris, Billy "White shoes" Johnson?
I totally love the rams. I`m a die hard fan who has never given up on them since 1972, and I won`t start now!
2012therock 2 years ago
what about them
JoeSteph24 2 years ago
@JoeSteph24 They are some of the greatest NFL runningbacks of all time! I personally love the passing game though, and my favorite Ram of all time is Tory "Big Play" Holt who is a wide out.
So sad he left the team but things change.
2012therock 2 years ago
how did "white shoes" make your list? He was an average wide receiver at best. As far as the running backs you mentioned, Faulk was better than those three. The smartest player probably to play pro football.
ramsback28 2 years ago
Thanks a lot. I hope you feel better now. You`re correct. Billy was a punt returner mostly. I think I just like his name.
2012therock 2 years ago
he was arguably the best return man in history.

Poor ass management...
Bralidiroe 2 years ago
and bad draft choices. They haven't drafted a decent first rounder since who....Torry Holt and maybe Adam Archuleta. I look at this video and my stomach turns from the garbage team the Rams have become. SIGH...those were the days
