  • I hate synthesia. I learned music the real way, the HARD way, you know, by practicing and stuff? It just pisses me off that now it can become soooooooo eaaaaaaasy everyone can do it... Maybe I'm jealous but... I don't like that.

  • @YAM466 Everyone has to practice to get better. The reason why more and more people are able to play with this method is because it's actually fun to learn :)

  • @YAM466 synthesisia isnt easy at al, it cant teach for crap

  • nice when you want play short parts, but all in all i need the finger plan (1,2,3,4,5), the rest is easy, but without finger plan you just dont know which is the best way

  • it seems to be played like a swing. the rythm should be much more precise

  • wait....wait..wait....0:31 theres a wrong note in the right hand its not a high A Someone confirm thanks.

  • @vuoshi affirmative

  • a it goes like this !? ... and i idiot try it with those black hyroglyphes on a paper :) ...sorry my mistake :)

  • technically, all you need to do is to watch the computer every second of the song, and pause at every key, so you can learn it bit by bit. Then you can match it up with sheet music. Then it will be quite easy.

  • it sounds terrible!

  • After how many years of piano can you play that ?

  • @tokiohotel00 Depends on your talent, stamina and your interest :)

  • >_< made me think the next hit video game could very well be Piano Hero!

  • There's a mistake made on 0:32 or 2:37, Synthesia plays the A in the right hand an octave too high.

  • Comment removed

  • new!: piano hero

  • its got wrong keys in there.....

  • Yes its really shit music :)

  • Sorry, I'm not God

  • Sorry.....this song isn't something you can learn from vidoes like this. This song is one that you need to have practice and skill with sheet music. Learn from sheet music. I learned this a while back from sheet music.

  • @XPureSpiritX You need to believe! It can be quite difficult, but it's possible :)

  • @teresahan1991 No you cannot, what about all the dynamic signs, tempo and the things synthesia doesn't show. Music isn't a bunch of notes one after another...

  • @teresahan1991 what do u use in playing this song???i mean,,did u use computer pad??if not, tell me what it is...oso,,tell me where to buy it..

  • @XPureSpiritX It depends on how you learned. I learned by sheet music and classica training, but this progam can help you to play and learn. I highly recomend paying the small amount of money to unlock the extras which include a scolling sheet music version at the top, as well as letter overlays on the scolling notes. Trying to learn from just what you see in this video is near impossible for me, and I'm assuming you as well.

  • @XPureSpiritX actually I learned from memory I repalyed the dam song over a few thousand times (Attempting I mean) and eventually became perfect :)

  • @XPureSpiritX You know, I learned this by ear. Not bragging, just saying that sheet music isn't *required* y'know?

  • @XPureSpiritX ahahaha....oh no wait you were serious. nah jks, but this song is definately 'learnable' as such from videos like this..think of it as a differeent type of score. because you cannot read sheet music does not give mean you are a bad musician.

  • @XPureSpiritX You are dead wrong. It does help to know technique, proper theory, dynamics etc but this program and it works fine on its own as long as you aren't preparing for a recidal or something i would strongly recomend to people who struggle w/ sheet music

  • Hardcore Guitar Hero for Piano

  • Well almost the whole thing

  • I LOVE this song!! I learned the whole thing!

  • Sounds a little mechanical. xD

  • This way it sounds like there is a little "swing" in it... It's not straight to the beat... To bad...

  • There is a wrong note, unfortunately!

  • Well Bach was born in my birthday which is... March 21 :)

  • at 0:22-o:32 it looks like a model of DNA

  • haha this looks so cool!

at 0:32 the note should be an octave lower though, just saying..

I have this on my page, will you guys look at it please?(: thanks!!

  • Piano Hero: J.S. Bach Edition :D:D:D

  • Looks like a DNA strand in some parts!

  • Phht. My grandma plays this with her feet... So easy :P

  • @Irreplaceable0416 Does she give you foot-wanks too.....!?

  • @NrichD Yeah! Does yours too? OMG and I thought only mine could do that! Unbelievable! xD

  • @Irreplaceable0416 Na bro - mine didnt give any foot wanks,. your tha man!!... :D

  • @NrichD Well, actually I'm a girl , but I shall accept that as a compliment. ;D

  • @Irreplaceable0416 oh! : s

  • i feel like such a geek all im thinking right now is DNA

  • This song is so hard to play even the computer messed up

  • Synthesia is an insult for the classical music.

  • @Jarnobh how?

  • @SoulGuitarMan

How? Don't you hear that faked sound? Yes, I agree, Synthesia is a little bit well for learning songs like this, but it's better to learn it from the sheets. The notes in this program differ from the ones on the sheet, you know.

  • Glenn Gould plays this at 1 trillion %

  • This teaches you the notes but not how to play it. Bring out melody and deattach notes

  • @technologycrazy well, if you know how to melody and know the notes of the piano, then youre good, they dont have to tell you

  • @meganluvluv know i no i was just searching for the songs i plat and found this

  • this might be possible, if i were an octopus :P

  • does anybody know what program he uses for this

  • @cert041 Synthesia. Download link in the description :)

  • @cert041 Piano Hero :P

  • what this game's name?

  • @1998Gabe Synthesia

  • it sounds like two different songs at such different speeds, i find that wildy awesome!

  • This is some kind of canon, right?

With upper register solo between the silences of the canon

  • @Zeiwo Canon?

    It's a two-part invention.

The "solo part" in between the main "melodies" is the "second part" of the piece. Hence two part invention.

Also called two part invention because as one hand plays a "melody" while the other plays a different one, they will switch roles in the next measure or so, so that the hand that was playing the 1st melody plays the second, and the second plays the first.

  • @Zeiwo sort of...

canons and two part inventions are very similar at some parts... however that specific repetition of the theme, with variations each time is not seen at canons.

  • Not entirely accurate... that high A at 0:32 (and 2:37 in the slower version) should be an octave lower.

  • I wanted to let you know of a cool new piano learning device in Gizmag

    Google “gizmag pianomaestro”

  • this was a totally accurate song and it really helped me

    Azgofk

  • BACH PREDICTED AND ENVISIONED DNA 200 YEARS BEFORE 1950 AND ENCRYPTED IT INTO HIS MUSICAL STYLE. HE IS THE GREATEST MUSICAL SCIENTIST IN THE HISTORY OF MANKIND.

  • I'm learning how to play it in my piano lesson right now. Wish me luck ;)

  • i could never play this D:

  • @proszel yes i agree with u

  • The A in the right hand at 0:32 or 0:33 is an octave too high.

  • How in the heck! Did some one Move there fingers and hands that fast!!!!!!!

  • @Jakjak841 think that was fast?

search "Circus galop on Synthesia" and watch that video!

  • comment s'appelle le logiciels? svp 100%?

is comment called the software?svp 100%?

  • This is my lure girls into bed song.

  • @vincent8er Yeah, I agree with you

  • Comment removed

  • I tried playing that once, but after 2 minutes the police came asking if I was disturbing the peace.

  • How is this supposed to help anybody learn to play the song? If they can't read music, thats their own fault and they shouldn't be attempting to play songs like this.

  • @iplaypian0 I use synthesia to learn to play songs. Got a problem with that?

  • @mamba109 Yes

  • @iplaypian0 Being a smart guy are we? Firstly, it's art. You can't tell people they aren't supposed to do something because they do it a different way. How can you call yourself an artist, a pianist, if you have such a narrow-minded point of view. Really? Just stop, please.

  • @mamba109 He can tell you whatever he wants to tell you. I received a message from Gandhi that iplaypian0 is a reincarnation of Bach himself.

  • Im just starting to play this piece for my Grade 6 piano exam. Any tips on how to practice and speed it up?? It's actually not that hard!

  • @MusicClassical1 Hands separately, slowly, make certain your fingering is correct. If you do not have correct fingering on Bach of any kind, you're going to screw up. When you memorize it, bring it faster, but it's a good idea to start with 60 tempo right hand, 60 tempo left hand, then 60 tempo both hands, then 80 tempo right hand, 80 l.h., 80 h.t. etc.

  • Yeah, Piano Hero! x)

    So cool!

  • Bach was a master of patterns, and used them in writing.

  • is the song supposed tonhave a swing to it likw that?

  • It's like Future Piano Rock Band.

  • "I"-'Reckon' If-You Put THIS-Way on-R 45o-Angle ... You-Could 'Marry' it with the-Mirror-Image of Your-Other-Way of Representation!!! >(*U^)<

  • I personally believe good music is when no matter how you change the speed or sound it will still make sense.

  • Yeah ... this isn't easy at all ^^

  • jsbach.net/midi/midi_invsin.html

Thumbs up the MIDI file for synthesia ! ;D

  • this looks like a great video game you could play. but it is crazy how the notes seem to go in a helix.

  • @tigerlibra It's by design. Bach was a huge nerd, apparently.

  • this is not going to help anyone play, its too fast, when you learn keyboard music, one must play DEAD SLOW then bring the tempo up gradually , and if you are really talented, you end up playing the harpsichord concerto in D minor without sheet music

  • ty

  • the first time I heard this song I tought bach was a superior musician... it is so intrinsically beautiful, so immensely elaborated and yet easy to get caught in its motion... now after watching this I feel he was in another dimension... what a genius

  • Comment removed

  • Does this sound a little syncopated at the beginning?

  • At 0:22- 0:31, that pattern reminds me of DNA, not to sound stupidly nerdy or something.

  • @igmz777

    yes me too!

  • @igmz777 yeah!!!

it looks like 8-Bit DNA!!! :D

  • @igmz777 It was the double helix at the beginning I saw it also, Very interesting observation. Music,Mind and body in complete sink with each other.

  • @igmz777 yup, Dioxierio Nucleic Acid (dna)

  • @igmz777 A lot of bach's music seems to express reality, that you compare it to DNA actually shows your understand of this concept. The music seems to express "Being" for being's sake. Like Aldous Huxley wrote in a book Island "Johann Sebastian Bach- The music that's

closest to silence, closest, in spite of its being so highly organized, to pure,

    hundred percent proof Spirit"

  • @igmz777 Nerdy is great, not stupid. Look up vlogbrothers - best decision ever

  • @igmz777 Dude, it does!!

  • @igmz777 LOL..same here..i actually know nothing about this song, but the DNA pattern interests me to click on the video..haha

  • @igmz777 HHAHA ME TOO!

  • @igmz777

I was actually think of a double helix as well hehehe

  • For the video, I think some notes in the right hand part is wrong. The high A at 0:33....

  • @Emblem113: You certainly have not heard Bach's organ pieces where his feet move as fast as his fingers. Bach was not called "the guy with the fleeting feet" during his lifetime for nothing.

  • i know that...:)..if anybody wants notes ..i have..

  • i know that...:)

  • @andmass: it's called synthesia :)

  • I'm sorry about this question I NEED TO KNOW!!:

    What program is this?

I have been searching over the internet, and I couldn't find it.

  • Thanks i learned how to play the whole thing in exactly 1 hour and 4 minutes

  • will this one be good enough to play for my piano exam for grade 8 - 9?

  • @juicylh It's listed under grade 8 repertoire in the RCM syllabus, I'm not sure about where you are, or which organization you use for exams. Personally, I used this for a grade 7 exam because I didn't like any of the grade 7 List A's, and this one sounded fun.

  • Haha looks like DNA to me

  • Can anyone tell me why great componist like Bach and Mozart are titling numbers to their pieces unlike Yiruma?

  • @zewenwu haha, they didn't really give numeric titles to their pieces. Sometimes they did, but because they have so many works, catalogers of their works put numbers to them in order to make it easier to identify them. good question, tho!

  • im sorry to say but i wanna keep my fingers instead of lose them )x

  • whr can i download this software? give me the name plz

  • WWWWTTTTTFFFFF...... ( ?_?) (?_? )

BACH COULD'VE BEEN "THE FLASH" IF ONLY HIS FEET MOVED AS FAST AS HIS HANDS! LOL

  • i cant even play the 30% one :/

  • the A at :33 in the right hand is wrong

  • @CanadianHomeGold

I cant remember the last time i was this angry. my life is truely pathetic! :D

  • i think some of the notes have been entered incorrectly. or ive been playing this wrong for some time.

  • I'm seeing stars........... @_@

  • is easy if you practice a looooot!

  • Bach was at home when it came to writing complex pieces of music.

  • 30% is also difficult!!

  • This is shity way to learn -.- use sheet music not this omG

  • @BassicStorm Traditional Western sheet music is not based in logic and is very asbstract which is why ridiculous mneumonic aids like Every-Good-Boy-Does-Fine have to be instituted in order for people to attempt to learn to read. There is a 50% failure rate for all individuals who try and read music. So Synthesia definitely has value. For those who truly want to learn to read music successfully, the easiest and most transformative way to learn is by using Spectrum Color electronic sheet music.

  • @virtuosoism I learned how to read music without using anything other than some paper with some notes and their respective letters on it, and a few days of practice. I highly doubt half the people who try to read music fail. I mean no disrespect, I just say it seems unlikely.

  • @virtuosoism Where do you get these statistics that there's a 50% fail rate for reading music?

  • @virtuosoism It's actually easy, especially for piano-- all you have to do is pretend that the lines on the staves are the keys to the piano, and the notes are your fingerprints on those keys. All it is is a piano flipped on it's side, cut in two. The idea is very basic. But, don't get me wrong, there are scores of complicated notations and things to understand within that simple idea. But it's easy to get started if you can picture the sheet as step by step diagram of your piano turned 90 deg.

  • not enough dynamic variation

  • cool^^

  • Children of Bodom took this song for their intro in red light in my eyes part one its awesome =D

  • Wow this is an amazing way to look at music. I never would have imagined this to be written in such a dynamic way. I'm going to show my Piano instructor your page. Dr. Chales Jones. Thanks!

  • @ismelldirtygymsocks

ur right but this is different. obviously he used different fingering. DUH! i played this as a grade 3 piece! so easy!

  • 0:30

  • @fdsaman123

ur right, but the mistake is 0:32.

  • That was amazing! I will try to learn this, but it will be hard.... Cool to see:D

  • LOL Piano Hero!!!

  • Given than it's a "How To Play", there should be a suggested fingering. Also could really do with some quantisation! And there's a wrong note at 0:34; that RH A should be an octave lower.

  • mi piace moltissimo questo modo di descrivere le note !

  • Did Bach HATE the black piano keys??? He rarely uses one LOL

  • @NaturalBornHedonist He uses them when it fits ^-^ and I see alot of them :O

  • It's written on 5 octaves! I guess the modern piano wasn't around in Bach's time..

  • This is at 100%? Well, seeing that I play this faster than their "100%", I must be at a different 100% percent speed.

  • What program is used to make these videos?

  • this is actually really easy

  • some parts of the piece look like a DNA molecule structure, perhaps thats why almost everyone loves these invention

  • interesting!

  • fuck this im earning this the easy way not soing it at all

  • It's cool to see the sections where one hand "passes" a theme to the other. So Bach-y, which makes sense, seeing as Bach wrote it.

  • umm, im not sure about that high A at 0:33 : /

  • @jdaesaorn2012 yeah it isnt

  • i did this song for my 5th piano exam that was 2 years ago im now 13 and I don't know if its funny or pathetic that adults can't play this or think its impossible

  • The rhythm sound a bit off, right? Am I crazy?

  • @Titere05 Sim; parece que está em shuffle!

  • 1:53 - 2:29 is a round. OR close, I suppose.

  • Hey !!!!!!!! I think i saw a pattern, and shapes of the notes.

  • ha ha that so visually effective

  • nice. timing feels unsettling though, sorry if that seems rude.

  • PIANO HERO !!

  • thanks :) i love this!!

  • screw guitar hero... piano hero!

  • I cant read this method
