So how does he like being a light wheel mechanic? does he like it? Im curIous because im going to have the same job im going to basic training in september.
You know something? I hope I can make it through basic and make my parents proud like that dude. Seriously. Gives me chill bumps just thinking about it.
very nice video... ima proud army husband whos wife is away at fort jackson right now... she grads on oct. 31.. i write her every day .. like he said ppl letters are really important.. its a hard journey.. but well worth it... GO ARMY!!!!!
Nice video.. my boyfriend is in basic training and graduates Sept. 5th.. and he also said getting letters is really important to him so i write him one everyday :)
I graduated Basic there too, but that was in 2002. I didn't see much of the base though. When my family came down I asked them to take me off post. I went to the mall and the movie theater (saw Austin Powers 3) then ate at some restaurant forgot the name. It was a good time, the only time me, my step-dad, my mom and my real dad all spent time together in the same place. But Im out now, got out in 2005. Im a college graduate now.
i graduated from F Co 1 61 and am now 12 weeks along In AIT, Only about 7 more to go. I wish my recruiter would have told me the whole truth about TRADOC, but hey it was a great time finding out, hah, the operational army i heard is a lot different. Cant wait, good luck to anyone joining, ill be more than glad to inform you on things that go on while your in.
As a parent, I don't know about TRADOC, but something you said did strike a chord. One thing Zach always said, right up until his deployment to the sandbox is that he was REALLY glad his recruiter told him everything and what to expect throughout the whole process. He said that made a huge difference in his experiences in both AIT and Basic. Thanks for serving, and best wishes.
yo taylor, i just wanna say one thing. even if your recruiter did tell you that tradoc was gonna suck, would that have changed your mind?? i hope not, so if ur reading this i have one thing to say! "your in the army now! drink water, drive on!! man up soldier sh*t! do your pushups then get out here to iraq, plus i need someone to replace me!" well Private Douros up there on that video, whoa, thats a great lookin guy!!!
i just wanted to say that i was in 4th platoon predators, i was the cycle before your son Mar 28-June 1 07', my name was the second up on the wall in the predators classroom... i was only 1 of 7 females that graduated from 4th platoon out of an original 13, drill sgts Evans and Washington were truly the best, your son was in great hands as i was before him, i wish him luck in Iraq
Zack deploys for Iraq at the end of January. You're right, he won't be doing his MOS. He's attached to a military intel brigade and will be running security for them. So basic and AIT flew by; now for the hard part!
it's good to see people really proud of what they're doing! I am an army wife and my husband went to fort jackson, it was hard for him then, but now he wishes he could go back and do it all over again!
A year! That's plenty of time to get the real story. One thing our son told us was how thankful he was, to have a recruiter who told him the truth... good, bad and ugly. He said many of his fellow recruits were angry at their recruiter for not telling it all. If you want, call the Army Recruiting station on Kettleman Lane in Lodi California for an honest outlook. Ssgt Mac and Ssgt T will give it to you straight.
i went through the same exact training as he did. bct at ft. jackson and then just right down the road to ait just about a year ago. i got chills just hearing and seein how proud you are of him that is amazing. not everyone has that support system.wow just amazing.
I am very proud of Zach. The first time I met this young man I knew he was destined for great things. It was an honor and pleasure to help him through his process of reaching his goal. To the DooRose family thank you for all of your support that you have given your son and his fellow brothers and sister in-arms.
Congrats to him. I actually graduated from Ft. Jackson last year. Same everything. B Co 1-61 Inf Regt. Except I am confused because when I was there, there was not platoon with the name Predators on it. I was in JYD. Junkyard Dogs. Well, anyways. Congrats to him. Hooah!
Congratulations chuckd992 on your son's successful completion of basic training!
