Touching, very moving story. This goes to show that success comes from hard work despite the bleak and dreary situation. Americans often take things for granted. Look at the backgrounds of those who came here with nothing; one plagued with stories of political and religious oppressions, atrocities, struggles, poverty and the likes. When opportunity knocks many took advantage. Here is one of those stories, a near-hopeless situation with a happy and successful end. Couldn't be happier for Mesko!!
He was born in the city of Timisoara situated in western Romania and located near the Serbian and Hungarian borders, according to his biography. Timisoara is approximately 300 miles away from Bucharest, that's about from Dallas to Houston. He moved to the U.S at 11 and now a naturalized citizen. He is now an American with a Romanian upbringing.

For the record, ZOLTÁN MESKÓ is a Hungarian name! Get it right, gypsies! He was born in "Romania" as we all know, technically that's really HUNGARY, but anyway. He doesn't identify as Romanian. His name is not Razvan, or something ending is "scu". End of argument!
@ZsoltNYC He mentions Romania, of course people might think he's romanian, regardless of his name.. it doesn't even matter where he is from, he's a good player and seems like a nice guy, good for him. Last time I checked, Hungary and Romania were on Planet Earth, of course, you might not think the same lol. as for the "gypsies" term, i can only say, grow some balls and eventually get some manners, you are really stupid.
@ZsoltNYC: My name is Adrian, which is a Roman name. Does that make me italian? He was / is a Romanian citizen, which makes him a Romanian. Discussion closed.
@ZsoltNYC the hungarians magyarized houndred of thousands of romanians after 1868. Mesko, sounds really "escu" if you tell me. And no, we are not gipsies, we spoke the most ressemblant language to old latin. So, fuck off mongolian nomad.
