ty so much..this was the only video where I *got* how to cast on!! I know it is simple once you practice but for a total begininer like me I was very confused until I saw this and heard the instructions.
@sarahxxmhn you use a slip knot to create to first loop that you put on the needle before casting on. If you search the Knit Picks channel for "slip knot" you will find a video on how to make one. The video is in reference to crochet, but the technique is the same.
Is there anyway that you can slow down on how to do the next step when you "turn around your work?" It seems to be too fast and having trouble with it. Or do you have anything available elsewhere to explain this step?
@dolldazed68 If you are having trouble after casting on, you might want to watch a separate video on the knit stitch - this part is not really explained since it focuses on casting on. however, you can search the knit picks channel for knit stitch for a detailed video that explains that stitch only.
omgomgomgomgomgomgomgmogomgomgomgomgomgomgomgomgomgomgomgomgomgomgomgomg thank you soooo much im learning out to knit and what the ppl at school taught me was soo much harder thank you so much!
the only thing i would add is a little segment on how to tie that first little slipknot, so people like me who are entirely inept wont have to go look it up elsewhere. otherwise, it was a very easy-to-follow video. thanks
Wow~ and I've been using 2 skeins of yarn, tying a knot, and casting on that way for years, this is so much easier- and only ONE skein! I just love your company and your videos, I'm hoping to get your Harmony wood circs soon, they are so cool looking and look very easy to work with! I do have a few circ needles, but they are tough to work with, I end up wrestling with the coils alot, do the cords on the Harmony's do that too, or are they easier to work with? Thanks so much~ Dora ~ NYC :)

Do I cast on down the whole two needles?
SwitchboardLIFE 1 year ago
@SwitchboardLIFE You only need to cast on for one needle. And how many stitches you cast on depends on the yarn and what you are making.
