MOST OF THESE OLD WEST HEROES WERE REALLY JUST A BUNCH OF NASTY PRICKS AND DICKS. EASY TO GLORIFY THEM NOW, SINCE WE DONT HAVE TO PUT UP WITH THEM...NOT THAT WE DONT HAVE PLENTY OF AUTHORITARIAN PRICKS AND DICKS IN OUR TIME A SWELL.
Deadwood is a gambling town nowadays. Most of the gold mines are shut down and he is buried at Mt. Moriah Cemetary. He was a character in those days of 76'. Thanks for posting photo's of Wild Bill.
You can see it in his eyes, he wasn't to be messed with. Morally questionable? Tell that to the killers of Tom Smith. Hickok had no choice but to deal with these men liquored up with rocket fuel and although he often talked his way out of trouble, when the time came to use firepower it was a deadly result for the troublesome cowboy who took on Wild Bill. The evidence is clear that Hickok was no great lawman, but when pressed into action he could back up everything that was written about him.
@MottTheWot STOP HE IS MY FAMILY AND HE WSAS A GREAT MAN IN LAW OR IN EVERYTHING EALSE HE DIED BECOUSE OF SOM JURK LIKE YOU WAS JESSOUS SO NEX TIME YOU TRY TO OPEN YOUR MOUTH TO SYAY SOMTHING YOU DONT KNOW ABOUT THINK TWICE!!!!!
@WildFilly4Ever First of all use spell check and find out where your capslock key is. Read my post jerkoff, i am in support of Wild Bill. He was no great lawman, he was certainly no Tom Smith, but he did what was necessary to curb the violence that was often found in those dusty old cattle towns. Wild Bill is a legend and you need to read before opening your big mouth dickhead!
@MottTheWot Yes he was A great law man and i'm in awe of your inheritance becouse with out him the world wouldent be the way it is today becouse he made A great impact on this world so get over yoursealf becouse there are more people in this world that will back me up than you!!!
@MottTheWot the thing was he was one of the greatest warriors with a gun but he wasn't a good lawman because he was well, too wild and shot too many criminals he did have honour and he used his skills and wits in numerous gunfights
HIckok killed a man in Springfield Mo. on the public square, a shot of about 75 yards with a pistol. All over the fact the man won Hickoks pocket watch in a poker game and Bill siad don't wear it in public.
Nice Picture,i was wondering, where did this picture came from??this is what i call treasure..do Will Bill Hickok's decendent still around to this day?
I do not know alot about Wild Bill Hickok, but watching "The White Buffalo" a reference is made to him killing an Indian named "Whistler the Peacemaker" can someone tell me if this is correct?
hey thanks! Whistler and two other Indians were killed in the fall of 1872 by another man also known as "Wild Bill" whose name was Mortimer Kress. Hickok was in the east coast with Buffalo Bill far from this event. The world authority on Wild Bill Hickok - Joseph Rosa - agrees and wrote about it in his books.

Bill was shooting back when he killed the
man you mentioned who's name was Tutt .he was a man with guts when guts were needed ,
I think to criticise him without reading about
him and the times he lived in is a mistake.
Just remember he was a man with a mans
Weaknesses .When he shot his friend by
mistake it really got to him.

Thankyou very much friend for setting me straight on that issue, sometimes fact and fiction are blurred in some mediums.
Joseph Rosa, I will try and obtain some of his writings. Anyway again thanks and cheers........

@wescoastblues Did you know that Wild Bill was a conductor on the Underground Railroad? He was a hero in more ways than one.
