Youve hit the nail on the head there, Couldent agree more! ummm, you might want to try using a noise removing tool for your audio, really helps me a bunch with my videos!
@SpookyYuki She's a female "sequential" artist, which basically means she just makes comics. At the time I made this video it was hard to find as many award-winning female artists in the manga industry as males, but now they're becoming more prominent.
Excellent review. I'm in the process of reading the manga volumes, and I absolutely love her use of lines in the artwork. I am slightly miffed that I heard the last three volumes of Mushishi will be packed into an omnibus. I want to buy those separately, not in a oversized omnibus that will most likely ruin or scrap the wonderful color covers of those volumes. =(
@deepskyblue Thank you! And believe me, I share in your frustration! Fortunately, I went to Japan and bought the WHOLE SERIES in its original format, and it is GORGEOUS. The colours are fabulous on the watercoloured pages. Even if I can't read it, it was so worth the purchase.
I don't care if the author is male or female, Mushishi is one of the best Manga/Anime I have ever read/watched!!
I highly recommend it to anyone with good taste who wants to experience something of a high class, unlike most fan-service filled shows of today. The pacing however won't be appreciated by younger viewers.
@jubailblast Agreed. It's like a completely new genre of show. True, the pacing is very strange, but the nature of the anime itself is strange. The self-contained episodes make it somewhat difficult to have any sort of overarching pace anyway.
I'm just upset they didn't continue the show. I've heard rumors of a second season (there are several more volumes of the manga out than the anime covers), but that's unconfirmed.
Well, Yuki is working on a new Manga called "Waters" and 3 chapters are already out since November of 2009. A second season of Mushishi would be awesome, but I think we should check out her new project. Judging by the initial looks of things, it follows the same art style and subtle pace.
You know what I saw the Mushishi Boxset on DVD and it looks familiar, so checked out some reviews and people are calling it a subtle, poetic, zen-like, beautiful masterpiece. And if it's created by a female then I need to see it. I have never seen an Anime created from a woman's perspective that would be interesting. I might blind buy this boxset this shit better be GOOD!

@Uplus2026 Yeah, I tried using the iMovie noise filters but they don't really do the trick. I'm still working on it though. ^^; Thanks!
