I think in peace age, Kongfu and Thaibox both are good way to build a healthy body for you, but they are different style, hard to imagine Kongfu fight with Thaibox, I think choose a style you like is more important.
And dont believe those monks who are making showes all over the world, those guys are students of Kongfu school, real monks will not leave their temple and make showes.
