they r the most affectionate dogs ever! i remember when as a kid when my mum got one, he was awesome. one time i played 'dead', held my breath etc......the look on his face! he actually pawed and nose-butted me til i gave in, then showed how pissed off he was by nipping me several times to say "don't ever do that again, u really scared me"! i miss that soul!

Thank you for your comment, It's been 6 months since Jake was put to sleep, but the house still seems very empty with out him. You obviously know how it feels to have to give a dog away and that in itself is hard enough to deal with. Maybe one day we will get another dog (definintely a Staff). God Bless to you and Hooch.
thanks for your text hooch is now two 3 in november i was 7 when we got hooch. those 3 years have been the best in my life. if we keep one of her pups ill call it jake after a loving staffie i once new

i lost a springer spaniel a year ago on the 29/5/08 and it broke my heart but i got a staffy 2months before he died and he is now 16month old and a proper daddy,s boy now, he is called punchy after the dog on the new rocky film and i would be lost without him, i dont love him more than i did sam the springer but just differently, you will never forget jake and hopefully mitch has a little bit of his big brothers love to give to yous god bless and remember time is a great healer.
Thank you rockysampunchy, you are right time, is a great healer, it's been several months since Jake left us and it is getting easier to deal with. Unfortunately we had to give Mitch away a couple of years ago as he began to get very jealous of Jake and would regularly attack him (this also broke our hearts) but it meant that Jake's last 2 years of his life were much happier than the previous year, so I think we did the right thing.
