Allah is the Arabic word for God. If here pendant said God in Hebrew, French, if it said God in French, there wouldn't be a big deal. Arabic is a beautiful lanuage visibly and perhaps she was paying homage to this.

In the USA individual freedom has a very high priority - which means that people there can wear things that in other countries would be restricted by law (e.g. in the US people can wear swastikas on the street which is forbidden in Germany).
