I think the face screen should be up at the top, and the creepy glowing eyes should be... uh... maybe on the chest... or in a scrap heap not part of the robot since they don't appear to do anything. Just have cameras on either side of the screen up on his face.

Guess we'll see if things like this have an interest in the marketplace..

Google "Musion Eyeliner 3D Holographic Projection". That's holographic telepresence technology. You could beam a 3d image of yourself to the meeting room. This would be infinitely better. I just don't see the point for this peice of crap robot. Surrogates is a peice of crap movie too. It's wayyy cheaper to do telepresence with present technologies than it would be with an expensive android. The whole point is to save time and money. Surrogates is ranting anti-telepresence, not anti-robot

They should instead do contract work for other fields... like hte military or hazerdoes waste or bomb squads or other such endeavours. Would make a whole lot more sense than this. That's where telepresence really -is- useful. The idea that it will replace social circumstances is stupid as a better replacement is already available - cellphones, internet, webcams, text messages, etc. With those you don't have an expensive bulky robot.

What I don't understand about "telepresence" is how does it really save you time whne you need to use telepresence to operate it??? It's not autonomous. Just kind of seems silly to me. It would probably be cheaper to just go yourself since I"m sure the robot isn't cheap and I'm sure that paying to ship it and keep it charged up is a service in and of itself. Reminds me of hte movie "Surrogates". What's the point of having a robot to represent you if you have to do it yourself????
