wanting to form a deathmetal band incorporating many different instruments and percussions. djambe, different gongs (not so much the "gosh" kind) and so on. been playing for about 2 years now (mostly drum circles) but I want to break some habits and learn the fundamentals and so on... thanks for the vid!
Thank you. I am new to Djembe drumming but I play guitar. It is nice to see you break it down into useable theory, most of the videos I have seen are " someone jamming and then they say, play that " that is not a lesson. You are a good teacher, well spoken and easy to follow. Take Care. Joseph W. , Cape Cod, MA, USA
thank u so much, what u do is very very usefull! i live in russia, singing, composing, songwriting, performing on stage. i play djembe for 1,5 month, by myself with no teacher - so surf the net for some usefull lessons. and yours are the best that i've found. thanx again!
This series of lessons is brilliant, almost all the other stuff I've looked at is for African techniques or is a one off. This is a complete course from a great teacher! THANKS SO MUCH!
This video really helped me thanks for taking time to help us like that !!!

hi initbludz,
the beat broken down, is:
Btt Btt Btt ttt Sttt
B = Bass
t = touch
S = slap / closed harmonic tone
there are 3x3 + 4 beats, 16 in all.
can also be counted as 1ena 2en 3ena 4ena (also 16)
