Such a sad, open song by Waters. Vera Lynn sang the popular WWII song about the boys coming home. As we know Water's father never did come home ( he was killed in battle in Italy).

I Saw Floyd many times and also Roger Waters solo tours. Also have the console video of the Buenos Aires show (crew shots and even the metronome), in some songs, seems that Rog lip sinch. I will download this version and put it over the CD version to compare. Specially the voice.

Really? That's beautiful! Because Vera Lynn sung about the trust that you'll come home, and meat your wife again some sunny day. She actually sung it to the WW2 soldiers. However, this song is quite opposite. Because Pink would, instead of meating his father again some sunny day, never see his father again (he died in WW2)

its about his dad dying in the war. vera lynn wrote a song during wwII called well meet again, about the fathers promising to see there loved ones when they come back from the war. obviously his dad didnt come back..thats why he wrote the song..
