  • What song are thay segwaying in to at the end?

  • /watch?v=cHcunREYzNY

    Vera Lynn- We'll Meet Again

    Everything should make sense now

Happy Veterans' Day, for all who have served

  • does anyone else in here feel the way I do?

  • @eyesoftheworld0 The most emotional part of the song..

  • I know you may get alot of mislead guidance with music nowadays.

but let me direct you to my channel. you like floyd? youll like us. love hendrix? youll love us. Give my channel a chance. trust me youve got nothing to loose and a new great psychedelic band to gain. Promise.

  • 293 likes, 0 dislikes, That's the way it should be :D

  • Vera is still alive and well in England. A national treasure. Thank you madam

  • I get it.

  • if i have a daughter I'm naming her vera

  • Such a sad, open song by Waters. Vera Lynn sang the popular WWII song about the boys coming home. As we know Water's father never did come home ( he was killed in battle in Italy).

  • Not discounting Floyd's emotional content. David Gilmour can pack more emotion into one note than most bands hope to pack into a whole album, but we were discussing modern acts that have emotion, and in this day in age the Black Keys are really second to none.

  • Theres a reason this video has 0 dislikes.

  • UHH...THATS PURE SH....I MENT, THIS IS IT WHAT I MISS NOWADAYS...

  • i really wish she would cover this song, it would be fantastic. Im not sure if she still has her voice but im sure it would be much more difficult for her at such a old age.

  • It makes me shivers...

  • bliss

  • If there were any more than zero dislikes I would go and kill somebody.

  • i love how pink floyd was amazing in live performances, they sounded great and the animation they set to the stage was amazing

  • if i had to sing this i would probly just start cry on the meet again part right in front of every one i wish they sang this in 2010 tour of the wall

  • @deathwish1909 They did.

  • This one minute and twenty-eight seconds has more emotion in it than the past decade of music.

  • @Sanctimoniously you obviously don't listen to the Black Keys or Modest Mouse.

  • @HahaLesbians

They are good, but this song is filled with raw emotion.

Although it isn't one of my favorite Floyd songs, it really describes Pink's mental status at this point in the story.

  • Does anybody here remeber Vera Wang? :)

  • @erk13z LOL...... Um, Who?

  • @XvxBERSERKxvX Glad to make you laugh.

  • Does anybody here remember Vera Lynn?

  • Pink Floyd is one of those bands that sound just as bad ass, if not better live as they do on their studio tracks.

  • I could never sing this song live. I would just breakdown in the middle of it.

  • this song is so short but says so much

  • ahh rogers u clever devil you...

  • Seein Roger in Chicago on Thursday. Can't friggin wait!!!!

  • i remember vera lynn!

  • we named our little Vera for this song...she was just diagnosed with a blood disorder and i just brought her home from the hospital today. this song just brings me to tears as I sit with her. the emotion roger puts in this is more powerful than my words can describe, and now that my husband and i are in this situation, we know now more than ever how amazingly powerful this song is.

  • @PrincessWizard wow. God bless your family sorry to hear what you guys are going through.

  • yall DO realize that this video doesnt match the song because the audio comes from the album RIGHT? This may not be from the Earls Court concert... T_T

  • @Moragoth1 this is absolutely live...

  • @DonConstantinos I know it is. I'm just sayin that the song from the album: Is There Anybody Out There wasnt all from Earls Court. It was picked through the tour. This is the video from Earls Court. The song came from somewhere else

  • The floyd never lipsynch concert, Roger Waters does

  • who could dislike this song, amazing tune !!

  • Omg I would pay anything to have seen this concert

  • @Lawen78 I hope Roger is enough for you. I can't wait to go see this redone in 2010.

  • outstanding just sat and watched the wall live amazing

  • ficooooooo

  • of course the vocals are live. it is the orchestra that is beeing played through a tape loop. ignorant fools!

  • Can you show me where it hurts?

  • this is defenetly live . you can tell if you acually lisen to pink floyd everyday

  • @rapsnaps I'd kill to see this show back in 1980, I saw Roger Waters The Wall a few months ago and it was amazing, but it wouldn't be the same as seeing the actual Pink Floyd. To be honest I think I prefer the live show of the wall better than the actual album, idk why I think it just sounds better

  • @rapsnaps I can't believe 49 peeps have gave you the thumbs up for such a ridiculous comment!!

    Of course it's fucking live.

  • beautiful song :)

  • who was vera lynn

  • she was a singer, a kind of star in the 40's. Now, at the age of 92, she's back in the UK charts...lol

  • roger's girlfriend :)

  • it took someone long enough to respond. i looked it up. she wasn't roger's girlfriend. she was a british singer. from the 40s

  • only joking dude ;)

  • i'm bet you were only joking

  • faggot

  • shut up stupid.

  • Vera Lynn sang the song during WWII about the boys coming home. Rogers is making the statement that his father never did come home; the promise was broken.

  • @RobertGary1 Yes because she wrote a song called "We'll meet again" and she disappeared. And Waters never met his father again like you said.

  • @RobertGary1 oh never mind she didn't disappear. I'm retarded.

  • @RobertGary1 really....? I'm sad....

  • @RobertGary1 good point of view!

  • @RobertGary1 i know. I have a book that tells about what are there song are about. Its pretty cool!

  • It means 'true' in latin, but that is just coincidence. The reason it is the subject of this song is because it is Vera Lynn's first name.

  • I dont wanna seem like im trying to be a "Know It All"

but the VERA he is refering to in this song, is a singer

back from the 40's who had a popular song that was called

"someday well meet again" some... sunny... day...

  • She was The Forces Sweetheart ;).

  • this is live you dumb butt. lol. pink floyd was that good.

  • I Saw Floyd many times and also Roger Waters solo tours. Also have the console video of the Buenos Aires show (crew shots and even the metronome), in some songs, seems that Rog lip sinch. I will download this version and put it over the CD version to compare. Specially the voice.

  • But the strings and the sound effects were recorded.

  • wrong

  • You're wrong man...Listen to the 1.12 minute...

In the studio version it's not so high...

  • He's definitely singing here. I've heard Vera MANY times, this is not the studio version.

  • I thought you guys should know... i don't think it's meant to be like it, but Vera in some languages... means Trust :)

  • Really? That's beautiful! Because Vera Lynn sung about the trust that you'll come home, and meat your wife again some sunny day. She actually sung it to the WW2 soldiers. However, this song is quite opposite. Because Pink would, instead of meating his father again some sunny day, never see his father again (he died in WW2)

  • I thought Vera meant life in latin

  • Yes Roger! We feel the same way...

  • I agree with those who say this song as so much depth and symbolism. Remind`s me of my 31/2 yrs in hell.

  • Were you in war? because that is what this song means to me

  • No. A diff kind of hell. BUT, You have my up-most respect.

  • Vera Lynn was a vocalist during world war II. She had a song called "We'll meet again"; that is what Vera is about. She is not his wife. Look her up.

  • thank you i saw the movie and was no words really in it so that clears it up

  • but why is he saying "what has become of you" why does he say that?

  • Vera Lynn played the U.S.O. shows, for instance; we ask "What has become of good music like Pink Floyd?", we mean, that you just don't see class like Pink Floyd anymore. Vera Lynn could be seen as a ray of hope in a world torn asunder. Remember, the wall had meanings on multiple levels, not just one. While it was a herald of war on one plane, it was a psycho-social view into the effect of war on society as referenced by Pink's father dying in war, and his mother sheltering him so much.

  • She actually, in her own little way; along with many other influences helped him build the wall, the border between himself and the outside world.

  • yes i rember vera lynn

    this song is awesome

does anybody else in here feel the way i do

  • Fantastic song. Fantastic women. Fantastic Band.

  • I love this song and how much Roger Waters puts into it even though it's short.

  • I just LOVE the screaming noice/sound that comes when he sings "we will meet again"...

  • and sheep

  • hi i know about ur work

  • they should of made the song longer cuz its so nice..

  • its about his dad dying in the war. vera lynn wrote a song during wwII called well meet again, about the fathers promising to see there loved ones when they come back from the war. obviously his dad didnt come back..thats why he wrote the song..

  • sorry ment to agree i think you are right in what you are saying

  • It is about the War Widows in Britian after WW2 and how they were forgotten.............

  • I've had this stuck in my brain for 21 years. I don't mind.

  • lol

For me, after i've listen to Animals, The Wall, Dark Side Of The Moon, Wish You Were Here, Piper at The Gates of Dawn...

I have all of those songs stuck in my head at once...

it's really effecting my thought process and made me a little bit wiser...

But that's Pink Floyd for you...

  • :) it's a great song

  • :) it's a great song

  • I have almost all Pink Floyd songs stuck in my head... I love them... They gave me lots of nice moments.

sorry for my english, I am from Czech Republic...

  • In my days of hell I would sing this to myself. Hoping to get out of it.

  • tru that man! this is such a deep song

  • The way waters delivers the lyric 'Does anybody else in here feel the way i do?' is simply beautiful. There is something about the song that touches you like no other. It really just shows how great an artist Roger is and I wish I could have seen the real floyd line up live

  • So beautiful. Breathe taking, really. If only it was a bit longer...

  • Push Repeat.

  • agreed 123456789th
