@giokabouter I got it working a month ago without deleting my windows. I do have Mac on my PC but it isn't working too good b/c I'm having issues installing the drivers.
@ThisIsDjYigytugd Well, for me (GTX 280) they already came with Iatkos 10.6.3, so I didnt need to do anything for it. Sometimes i select wrong things, reinstalling like 5 times and it works perfect ;)
@giokabouter Its boots into Mac Iatkos 10.6.3 but a lot of things don't work. Video, Network, and Mouse drivers aren't working. I'm gonna try to find a way to update w/o breaking the OS and getting these drivers to work.
@m3m3t11 Its the same for me, i7 @ 4ghz,12 gig ram, GTX 280. Windows 7 is just so fucking slow, hackintosh boots in 20 secs. Windows 6 in like 1/2 minutes before i can actually do something.
@ankit866 That is because you need a boot CD, get iboot (Its only for i3/i5/7). Then ur in the cd, eject it, get your SL cd, press F4/F5/F6 dont remember. And bam ur done!
Can't wait to try this out with my XPS 410. I will buy an extra drive and maybe max out my RAM beforehand.
Is it safe to overclock this system? Because my CPU is running at 1.8ghz and I would like to get it to at least 2.0ghz so I can play The Old Republic when it comes out.
hey man how ya going? thanks for the great tutorial. i have one problem though.
when i get to the setup after booting from an external hard drive, i cant see my laptops hard drive. im running windows 7 with my hard drive split into 2 partitions (140gb NTFS and 20gb FAT32) do i need to format my hard drive and get rid of windows completely? or make it a single partition?
ANY help would be GREATLY appreciated. thankyou in advance.
@noscopesnipa I used seperate hard drives. Both OS' like to make backup partitions so I found the easiest way was to disable my secondary hdd, install OS X on the primary, get the bootloader going etc.. then renable the secondary and disable the primary, and install Windows, that way no partitions get mixed and when you renable both the OS X bootloader takes over :)
oh k so i cant dual boot win 7 and os x on my laptop with just 1 hard drive then??
i tried it on my desktop about 6 month ago and i had to reformat my whole harddrive and install win 7 again cos mac fucked up my hard drive and i lost all my programs and downloads
@noscopesnipa Hey I've dual booted OS X with W7 on a single hard drive, it's pretty easy just make another partition in "Create and Format disk partitions", shrink the volume to what size you want for OS X and there you go.

@y09ur7pr1d3 But your entire drive has to be GPT and just your windows partition has to be NTFS thats why its impossible to install OS X with an already existing installation of Windows 7
@KoolJust4U At the time a mac with similar specs would have cost me twice the amount that I paid for my pc. I only installed SL for a bit of fun anyway, not to use regularly.
@Pro9070 If I could help I would, it's a complicated process and I was only able to do it because of the guide that I've linked to. That guide is now unavailable so I don't know what to do :(
What the hell is wrong with ur Win install?. My crappy old p4 with 1 GB ram gets to desktop from boot menu in under 45 seconds, With vanilla install...
@mrappreviewer7 I'm not too sure, if you check out Insanely Mac on their forums they have loads of fixes for all sorts of issues. It'll probably be you're missing a kext, they should have the right one somewhere, you'll just have to dig around to find it.
@m3xic4n I'll try to a video showing how to make the bootable USB, then I'll write a bit about the installation process, don't want to risk wrecking mine :P
@themacphantom In the end it wasn't too difficult, I got quite lucky. I found a guide written by someone else who has the same PC as me, that got me my Snow Leopard install but I had to sort out the dual boot myself which was quite difficult thanks to the Dell bios. I can post some links if you'd like?
@themacphantom Link is now in description :) I had to do a little bit of terminal work but nothing to bad. Really, the only difficult thing is getting all the right drivers, luckily this guy packaged the ones I needed :) Quick note, to get windows working again I had to disable my leopard drive then reinstall windows on my other drive. Re enable leopard disk, sorted :)

Slow as fuck. I had the same HD and it failed, this hard drive seems clunky and slow as fuck.
