  • It's all about dissipating the heat. Take a look at SMD LED's. (Surface Mounted Diode)

    Cree makes some fantastic ones but you need to keep them cool with some type of heat sink.

    They can stay to full brightness forever if they never get too hot.

  • @JohnAltenburg I agree that dissipating the heat from the LED is important, however, 5mm LEDs are all basically the same package design. Good quality ones will last for years, so it is also the quality of materials used in the LEDs that make them last. Obviously corners are being cut on these cheapo LEDs as they don't last a week.

  • @248Samson I tested the RS 276-017 white LED in another video. It is the one that has run for over 2 years without fading.
