Obviously Carell didn't do his homework on the original Maxwell Smart character. All of the original nuances, idiosyncrasies and mannerisms from Don Adams were not present in Carell. He was pure CRAP. All you need to do is watch a clip of the original TV series and you'll know the difference. And Anne Hathaway as Agent 99 was just as bad if not WORSE. Deeply disappointed being a big big fan of the original.
