one more thing; just checking to make sure, because id rather not invest the money if im not going to wish i hadn't but does the 35mm adapter have to have the vig netting or can you make one without it
This video was created with one of my first ever adapters, Thus it had a lot of vignetting.
My adapter that i sell now has virtually NO vignetting. The only vignetting that you can get will come from the lenses that you choose to use, sometimes lenses 20mm and bellow can create slight vignnetting, but this un-avoidable. Even these lenses in proffesional photos / films get vignette from the super wide angle lenses.
Comment Continued - - - If you have a look at my "inbloom" trailer this is a good example of how my adapter doesn't get vignette. except at 00:12 when i use a 17mm lens, there is a slight vignette. but the lighting also exaggerated this. the following shot is with a 17mm and you can see the vignette isnt bad, but its slightly present. But it looks natural on a wider angle i think. Either way, vignette is not a problem with my adapter, so i wouldn't worry.
this adapter in particular was my first one i ever built, it costed me around $100 to make. but it was basically all glued and taped together. the adapter i use now costed me $425 to build
This just goes to show how an awesome skate video is made even when the skaters are new with tricks; pretty much what my crew is going through right now.
By the way-he definitely ate concrete at 1:44-nice cover
beautiful. the first few seconds of this video is just absolutely visually stunning. and the song you chose is also perfect. love the work with the adapter. I had the idea to use an old SLR for its pentaprism too, seems like a pretty good idea. seems to work very well for you. great shots!
I'm totally loving your videos. Is the 35mm adapter what allows for the aperture change? I'm trying to improve my video making abilities and yours are the quality I want to reach.
diggin it. I know it's kinda a pain in the ass. But can you be more specific on how you made your adaptor. I'm into sick images and a little more detail would help.

did you make this and film it off a tv??
Joncaseyisdashit 2 years ago
Umm no, it may look like that because the curved corners where from the inside element of the focusing screen. Its a component of a 35mm adapter.
