The computer does little to aid you in drawing, you're drawing the piece. The computer is just another medium that I believe is much easier to use than a traditional medium. If you're trying to learn to draw--sure,use paper and pencil, but if you're trying to make something for looks alone, than I'd suggest using a digital medium.

I've used a pencil and paper for all my life, it's great, but I'm at the point where I could create much more advanced art by using a computer.

I do actually agree very much with this. Photoshop is just a tool and too many people believe that it itself and custom brushes will make them better artists.

I studied traditionally before I taught myself how to paint digitally.

Not really, you'll make the same mistakes on a digital medium as you would a traditional medium, except on a digital medium it isn't ruined if you mess up.

I don't see why you're arguing this, either. He wants to achieve the best-looking piece he can, and by correcting his mistakes, he can. That's like saying using an eraser means you're "cheating". He's making them look better, if he wanted to go "hardcore", he'd probably just go without fixing it. Again why make things harder on yourself?

If you didn't notice, most paintings nowadays are done digitally, at least all the recent ones. Why make things harder for yourself? We're in the Digital Era, there's no need to complicate things--if you have the chance to correct your mistakes, by all means you should do so. Your work will suffer if not.

I really like the pastel colors and the sky! But this extreme use of textures and strong white highlights at the right side killed it a little bit ;)

anyway, its a great painting whith a beautiful sky!
